Who is the oldest person regularly posting on ILX?

i know this is veering off-topic but somehow i think i've been here longer than some of the old schoolers. i always think of myself as showing up around 2005 and then being ignored for a few years (ilx tradition), but my first ilx post was Aug 2003

which also means that i will reach the 50% of my life threshold later this year, when i turn 40

I'll reach that 50% threshold in 2057, when I'm 96. I still plan on italicizing titles.

i think we actually lost a fair number of younger posters who aged out to social media and hung on to a bunch of people who use ilx as social media

my stats are the same as dan peterson's. if i had logged on earlier i might have posted that same song.

I think forks is otm and also of course old-school message board format is not exactly calling out to anyone much under 40 I wouldn't think. (I love old-school message board format, don't get me wrong.)

Please do. I am evangelical about night guards. I love mine so much. Completely cured my sensitivity to hot and cold foods. If I'd got one sooner, I might never have had to have those bloody root canal procedures.

Very intrigued about how people found out about ilxor? I stumbled here from a Jim o’rourke google search when I was deep diving in his work. Remember being shocked at this archive or people posting things like “yeah chatted with Jimmy boy last week at a party after he hooked up with my girlfriend. Mega tool but damn gastr del sol know how to write a hit”! Or the like, and realised if found a very unique and interesting corner of the internet.

a few people from the site I wrote for at the time (Satan Stole My Teddybear) used to also post here.

one of them said everybody here was stupid and he was done posting here and the other said it was cool but Geir was hilarious.

the one that said everybody here was fucking stupid is the person who started the "hip hop taken to new levels" thread, lol. cool guy, but lost track of him as he shut down his social media I think.

I’m def not the oldest - but have been around a while. I think I started posting around early 2001.
I found the site while trying to make sense of why Andrew WK was a thing and even tho ilm didn’t help me a lot there, I did like the place and decided to stick around.

I'm not the longest tenured ilxor. That might be Ned or DJP. My first post on Search says April of 2002. The majority of my early posts were on Ask A Drunk, which was my playground for as long as it was active. I loved that forum. It helped me stay sane through some very trying years.

I'm happy to see a couple of 1955 babies uncloak themselves. I was born late in 1954 (November), so they are nearly indistinguishable from my age. Once you've crept this far into old age a matter of months is trivial. I still hope to see someone older than me 'fess up. I keep thinking a lurker beyond my years will show themself. Hasn't happened, yet, but it could. In theory.
