love where we're at now (with the exception of SB, which was an interesting idea and i'm sure not trivial to implement, but it's changed things for the worse imo). i'm generally opposed to new features that change the way ilx works as a magical community of social retards rather than just improve the UI (like remove bookmark links at the end of bookmarked threads) or are just cosmetic (like CSS changes).

Re: the simple and plain thing, I've certainly no plans to change that. I do think the thing is very economical and helps you get straight to the actual important info - what people are posting. I find these PHPBB things really horrible with a really low signal to noise ratio, in that about 20cm on the screen can be taken up by someone saying 'lol' or the like.

I am super pro-expanding poll options. I think they've grown to play a decently big role here, and you can do lots of pretty interesting things w/ statistics and rankings and stuff.

I agree, it's just one of the harder things to do...

But will spend some time thinking it through.

What about a poll option that automatically SBs anybody who starts more than one poll in a week?

Or a function that blows up your computer if you start a poll on something that was done 2 months ago?

Or maybe shoots nerve gas out of your keyboard if you start a poll about Animal Collective?

yeah maybe some polls with two axes so then you can make a histogram based on the respondent's age/sex/whatever

yeah anything that blows up your computer is cool

i would like a function where anyone attempting to a thread with more than 200 new answers has the add a post box replaced with:

t-shirts. we really need t-shirts. they don't have to be xian. there should really be an online gift shop. coffee mugs, etc. as a way to pay for future computer, um, stuff. i just really want a mark sinker coffee mug.

I dunno if this is just a css thing, an option I don't know about, or a purposeful security thing, but when I'm On iPhone, all pictures show up as links.

It'd be great if I had an option to change that, since I don't have a non-work desktop right now and am totally missing picture threads.
