well sure there are a lot of people going "wow imagine being one of her family members or someone who really cared about her and having this guy just talk about himself for 45 minutes at the eulogy" but, I dunno, it didn't seem like the mourners disapproved of it, I think a lot of these people really do believe their purpose in life is to be foot soldiers on the front lines of the dumbass culture wars

the newish movement to blame covid deaths on people who are vaccinated follows the logic of the old one. they were part of one of the cruelest movements i can recall, the covid denier thing, and their disinformation needlessly killed millions of people who should be alive right now. they were never going to apologize for that or contemplate what they had done. they feed on cruelty, they have to turn it up a notch. blaming covid on those trying to prevent covid is today's escalation. who knows what they will do tomorrow - i'm guessing they will look for ways to punish people who are doing the right thing

very likely that most of the mourners were dazzled by the idea that a former POTUS, billionaire, and television celebrity agreed to come to the funeral and speak to them. even without all the secret service agents and other trappings of enormous power that's enough to turn most people's brains to vapor.

i think one can view it as a tragedy that someone who struggled with heart disease for years could be manipulated into following someone like Trump et al and being an anti-vax advocate who basically accelerated their own death, while also saying "but also fuck this person for spreading this fucked message"

The Daily Mail also noted that this is not the first time Trump, a notorious golf cheater, has bent the rules at his own club. The outlet said, “Participants merely shrugged and competed for second place.”

It would not surprise me at all if he started selling the opportunity to lose a round of golf to him. Meaning whatever actually happens on the course, when you get back, he says he won and you nod and smile.
