I’m up to 19/123, far to go

I've actually got a shocking amount of those left to watch. Why? Screwball.

I've seen about 72, interested in many of the others. I didn't share all of his tastes but a lot of overlap, especially with classic Hollywood.

My count is 49. There's still a lot of silents I haven't seen along with some foundational stuff (haven't seen Mikey & Nicky yet - what the hell?)

60 or so films. Perfect Xmas project to see a few more.

Not sure of my count but there are loads I have loved and loads I would love to see. A shame that the very first film on the list is so very bad, but everyone has their blind spot I suppose, wish he were here so I could argue with him about it!

I've seen 85. Didn't know he loved Letters from an Unknown Woman (which coincidentally, I'm watching for the first time in years in a splendid YouTube transfer) and Stop Making Sense.

Been reading Hollywood In The Fourties, by Charles Highham and Joel Greenberg, published in 1968 and in the chapter about literary adaptations they point out Ophuls was one of the last artists around to actually remember turn of the century Vienna and Hollywood, having given him the chance to eulogise it, surely couldn't be all bad.

Intolerance is many things, but "bad" is pretty far down the list for me

xp tedious, hectoring, morally indefensible, confusing, ludicrously long? I will admit there is some nice cinematography, but it doesn't make up for all of the above. I own the dvd and have patiently sat through all of it, but never again.

I find it none of those things, but then again I waited to watch it until after I read Stuart Klawans' crucial book Film Follies, which puts the movie into its proper perspective.

Not surprised that The King Of Comedy is on the list. Very surprised that it’s the only Jerry film. I figured he would’ve at least picked The Bellboy.

If I had to guess, I'd say Morbs would've opted for Nutty Professor over the likes of The Patsy or The Ladies' Man.

You don't need to bother with Departed, really. It's pretty much a comically overblown genre exercise that bores more than it amuses.

i still feel really bad for some of the things i said to morbz on here. bad jokes at his expense. i think he would rile me up sometimes and i just let loose just to get a reaction from him. stupid, i know. overall i was fine with him and him with me (i think). he was funny and smart. i didn't really understand why he wanted to be here for so long and get attacked and yelled at so much. not that he was always getting yelled at but he was definitely a foil for some people. he was so much more than this place though. i'm so sorry that he had to suffer. i was very sad when i heard about his passing.
