I’ve gained a lot of new followers lately. First of all “Hi!”

A bit about me: by trade I’m a research scientist, with expertise in a variety of overlapping fields from animal behaviour to veterinary epidemiology and research methods.

As someone who deleted his account, I've noticed that since yesterday if I navigate to someone's profile, after scrolling through a handful of tweets, I'm prompted to "See more Tweets from ______" by signing up for an account.

that has been the case for a long time, it predates Elon and is very annoying

yeah a lot of social media sites do that. I don't have Insta but if I click on a link from there I'm not really allowed to browse much past that.

there's a chrome extension that stops the twitter one caled "breakthrough twitter login wall," it works for me and hasn't stolen all my personal info yet that i know of

I deactivated my account before Thanksgiving and the prompt hadn't happened to me until yesterday. Maybe it turns on once you've been logged out for a certain amount of time.

I nuked all Twitter accounts about a month ago but have still browsed intermittently via web, and I didn't start getting the "See more Tweets from ______" prompt until yesterday as well. Seems like it's just tied to browsing a particular user's tweets rather than browsing via keyword.

as far as I can see, people keep getting banned like they always did, main diff is that on random days, they wake up and unban like 50,000 people who used to be permabanned, including Nazis and such
