Sutton's a dick but I'd rather be irritated by him that snore through Jenas or Keown.

Yes, they're dogshit and Bale saying them beating Ukraine to qualify for the World Cup was the "greatest result in Wales' football history" irritated me no end - the 1958 team played Brazil in the quarter finals of the World Cup you dick, a much better team than this mob, with much better players than Gareth Bale.

Klinsmann going on about Iran working the ref lol. Wales offered nothing.

From the Guardian:
Gareth Bale's verdictIt’s gutting [boings his lips]. We’re gutted, there’s no other way to say it. It’s difficult to take but we have to recover and try and go again.

IRN were better and deserved to beat WAL.
I like WAL in principle but this is a very limited team. They literally get excited when a player from Stoke or Barnsley is available for selection. Bale seems very off the pace and showed nothing today. They had one effort on target.
IRN scored one of the goals of the tournament and another fine goal, as well as hitting the post twice.
I like Klinsmann but he insisted on saying that Iran are emotional and also that they foul, con the referee and commit gamesmanship. I actually saw little evidence of this. IRN were the better, more skilful team; if anyone needed to commit gamesmanship to survive that match it was WAL. And the WAL keeper's foul was Teutonic.
I felt sorry for IRN after an abject opening result, after losing their keeper. I'm glad for them today. They're not such mugs as many English people thought.

No. I just presumed it would lapse into racism frankly. I watch the match and turn straight off.— Aaron Bastani (@AaronBastani) November 25, 2022
He's not very wrong here. Racism / chauvinism / disdain for Middle Eastern people did, I think, inform the studio discussion. Funny that, when UK soccer is so loudly committed to inclusion and no room for discrimination.
― the pinefox, Friday, 25 November 2022 13:17 (three years ago)
I think just one passing comment about the quality of the first goal which was an absolute belter.
― Tracer Hand, Friday, 25 November 2022 13:26 (three years ago)
is there a short answer as to why Bale is playing in LA? Has he really fallen off that much? He’s only 33!
