this Canada squad is fairly legit (by CONCACAF standards), not the pushoversthey used to be. somewhat ridiculous that the Sockeroos are ranked above them in FIFA rankings.

I remember saying at some point during concacaf qualifying that this nu-look Canada remind me of the USA teams of the 00s where they had a handful of quality players but mostly relied on persistence, athleticism, etc. (Of course it is debatable that the USA team is still reliant on those traits.)

yeah US still hasn't quite escaped that yet, but they're more technical and probably have the highest pedigree of players they've had in a minute. whether that eventually translates into a team that can win games at the WC, we'll see.
