crazy that twitter has both an obvious best and worst poster
Even before this Elon was a competitor for one of the all-time wackest posters on this site. A sweaty reply-guy for the worst accounts on here, a joke-thief and a bore, and a relentless, charmless ROFL emoji donkey in every facet. At this point he's clearly the worst poster ever.— David Roth (@david_j_roth) November 18, 2022

the stuff that thread went into that most people dont seem to be thinking about is the intersection of legal and tech aspects, if youve just thrown a company into chaos by say firing half the workers and alienating most of the rest into quitting both your tech and legal depts are unlikely to be functioning well which makes them really unlikely to be able to coordinate well between each other― lag∞n, Friday, November 18, 2022 11:09 AM (one hour ago) bookmarkflaglink

lmao here's another fun problemhttps://www.businessinsider.com/twitter-payroll-finance-department-resigns-en-masse-under-elon-musk-2022-11
A large portion of Twitter's financial organization, including its payroll department, left the company on Thursday in response to an ultimatum from Elon Musk that has seemingly backfired.Along with the payroll department resigning, Twitter's US Tax team and its financial reporting team also resigned, two people familiar with the matter said, matching several internal messages seen by Insider. All three segments of the company were part of Twitter's finance and accounting organization.

Additionally there were rumors the new vision might be radically different. Not just subscription based but possibly having adult content be a core component of subscription offerings. if there's one mentality I've noticed a lot in right wing circles it's that all these extremely complex things are actually incredibly easy and that 90% of this country gets paid to twiddle their thumbs. Trump ran his whole presidency that way ("who knew health care could be so complicated?"), crypto bros are losing billions by convincing themselves you don't really need banks, and now Elon is starting his takeover of Twitter by cutting like 75% of their employees. whats funny about this to me is I suspect Twitter is kinda where this whole mentality really started to snowball, by letting everyone give dumb, short reactionary takes to every possible subject. and now Elon is running his business by soliciting the opinions of the dumbest people on Earth. sucks it's ruining something I like but also: lmao

There was no vision shared with us. No 5 year plan like at Tesla. Nothing more than what anyone can see on Twitter. It allegedly is coming for those who stayed but the ask was blind faith and required signing away the severance offer before seeing it. "Why be the Onlyfans free advertising service when you could just be Onlyfans" is almost a decent business plan, if you hadn't paid $44bn for a service that depended on Disney advertising Pixar and Marvel movies to survive.

musk spent Thursday in meetings across different divisions of Twitter, making personal appeals to the *many* employees attempting to resign. His pitch, paraphrased:“I know how to win. If you want to win, stay and work for me.”w/@RMac18 https://t.co/GsYVtrtrdU— rat king 🐀 (@MikeIsaac) November 18, 2022
people who choose to work at twitter (rather than its peers in the tech industry) don't care about "winning", whatever the fuck that means. they care about getting above market rate comp and some of them care about the particular product/eng problems at twitter and some of them are stuck because of their visa. very few of them care about owning the libs or making billions or whatever "winning" means to elon.
