trump back on twitter is inevitable. especially if/when twitter starts circling the drain, you know elon musk isn't going to be able to avoid the temptation of putting him back on, all the new traffic and reliving the glory days of the angry horrible man screaming via text every couple hours

oh I'm sure elmo will unban him, but at this point it doesn't even seem clear whether or not Twitter will last until the end of the month

I have noticed a lot more timeouts and 500s in the past week or so than I had in the preceding, say, several months. It's already struggling but it's not attracting widespread notice probably because it's a bit subtle and people are used to all software being kind of broken all of the time

yeah i mostly use the website and its always been a lil buggy, fantom notifications, failing to load replies etc, havent noticed it being worse yet

I had a friend who was locked out yesterday because Twitter forgot how to send the SMS with the login code.

eh, apologies, the details of how twitter does sms 2fa mean it's difficult to spoof a number, i.e. this is bad but it's not very bad.

Ok, it's been pointed out to me that using short codes for this should make it much harder to spoof - they're routed inside the carrier, and the carrier already knows your number
