The Posting Era is coming to an end in the funniest and most spectacular wayâŠsoon all will be scattered to the forums and there will only be a smoking crater where they spent over a decade posting through it

it should be noted that any sentence that includes the words "how are you going to..." and "...align everyone on a shared vision?" was actually a big slow softball question

twitter has wild revenue fluctuations, but even some of its worst quarters only had negative cash flows in the low nine figures, so if this is true Elon has blown a multi-billion dollar hole in their finances already https://t.co/CThkrFtqEl— Law Boy, Esq. (@The_Law_Boy) November 10, 2022

This NYT articleâŠIn case youâre in any doubt about who got to stay:
At Goldbird, Twitterâs revenue division, the company had to bring back those who ran key money-generating products that âno one else knows how to operate,â people with knowledge of the business said. One manager agreed to try rehiring some laid-off workers, but expressed concerns that they were âweak, lazy, unmotivated and they may even be against an Elon Twitter,â two people familiar with the matter said.
Last week, Ms. Crawford shared a photo of herself sleeping at Twitterâs San Francisco offices in a sleeping bag and an eye mask, with the hashtag #SleepWhereYouWork. Her message rubbed some colleagues the wrong way. They wondered in private chats why they should commit long working hours to a man who could fire them, according to five people and messages seen by The Times. On Twitter, Ms. Crawford responded to what she called âhecklersâ by saying she had received supportive messages from other entrepreneurs and âbuilders of all types.â
On Wednesday, workers in Twitterâs New York office were unable to use the Wi-Fi after a server room overheated and knocked it offline, two people said.

Muskâs Twitter purge has created all kinds of bizarre ripple effects across the whole world which are both interesting and confounding. For instance, Japanese Twitter users have noticed that the siteâs Trending Topics in the country no longer have any news in them and have filled up with topics like anime and video games. The tweet above from Business Insider Japan reporter Ikuko Takeshita who explains that media outlets in the country were making Twitter Moments to promote their stories, which were then boosted by the Twitterâs curation team, which no longer exists.

Thursday evening, another blue-checkmark account posing as Eli Lilly with the handle LiIlyPadCo, tweeted a parody of the drug maker's apology, writing: "We apologize to those who were have been served a misleading message from a fake Lilly account about the cost of diabetic care. Humalog is now $400. We can do this whenever we want and there's nothing you can do about it. Suck it. Our official Twitter account is @LiIlyPadCo." Amid replies, the account responded, "$500 now. You want to keep going?" The account has since been suspended.
― Karl Malone, Friday, 11 November 2022 19:22 (three years ago)
Eli Lilly lost billions in its stock valuation, probably on a very temporary basis. The real losses weren't to the company, but to all the stockholders who panic-sold at far below the market price prior to the tweet. Some of those will be very large pension funds, hedge funds and mutual funds, who will be pissed off as hell.

i mean they have been sued for this before, im not a lawyer but i dont think 230 allows for wanton negligence, and even if it did they could still get sued
― lagân, Friday, 11 November 2022 19:51 (three years ago)
(also NAL): the blue check is provided/published by twitter itself not a third party, so 230 might not help them if the argument is that the verification service is the root cause not the tweet's content
