My one major beef with MUBI is some download weirdness.

Le Bao's Taste is very strange. It has arresting images but is inscrutable. There is almost no dialogue or explanation of events. It is a step further removed from Pedro Costa in that it shows an oppressed environment but it doesn't offer any context

So next week’s NYC GO offering is MEET ME IN THE BATHROOM? Don’t know how I feel about that. Also just a notice that WIFE OF A SPY is leaving soon but no sign of when.

Yeah. I wanted to go Monday but my MUBI buddy wasn't available so we pushed to the subtitles. Looks like IFC is just running this for awards season qualification which is a surprise given the substantial hype surrounding it.

ended up paying for this again because I fancied a Chan-Wook weekend. I re-watched Thirst which I've always liked (it seemed far funnier in parts than I noticed the first time) and watched Joint Security Area which is all over the place but basically v good.

I wonder how much use the average subscriber makes of it.

Good question. I feel like maybe it undercounts somehow, like if you didn’t watch something to the very end it’s not in there?

l definitely didn't complete all of the films listed. I think I only saw 11 films in full.

Any streamer is more likely to do the opposite for their metrics: if you watched just a little bit it counts.
