This...is true. (Anyway I think this season feels smoother than the first one already, but we'll see. I will say the most overtly annoying 'you don't have to speak THAT loud' queen left in the first episode so that was a plus.)

Yes I find myself lately quite confused what series I’ve been watching or is airing; between all stars, regular, Canada and France (in honour of our quebecois brethren) I just watch a constant stream of drag without really ever knowing what’s going on

I only watch the ones that RuPaul hosts, because otherwise I spend so much time reading the subtitles that I don't get a good look at the lewks (please forgive me), and I didn't really like the first season of Canada. Also, like Veg, I just have other things in my life. But I have to have WOW+ even to see the "core" shows. The subscription is also worth it for the non-bleeped editions of UNNNnnh.

This last point is urgent and key.

I love it so much.

Today's Drag Race France was pretty good I thought! In contrast to last week's emotional-as-hell lip sync here everything built to a (kinda preordained as you could tell) three lip-sync off to determine the actual top three for the final, and it was all good spirits and being your best, combined with the makeover challenge. Kinda made up for the anticlimax of All Stars!

we were quite shocked to realize we watched 27 seasons so far. we've yet to see all stars season 2 - we were waiting for a break between regular seasons but it's like a full time job now. we did try to get into drag race france but with closed captioning it does feel like you're missing too much, including double entendres and inner jokes and such (still, episode 6 is a must see for any DR fan!). and drag race canada is becoming a bit of a, well, drag.

Unsurprisingly Race Chaser's been perfect listening for going over the finale.

Alaska: "They don't get critiqued, they get named a thing."

Willam (flatly): "Which is...just...wonderful."

with 0 critiques on all winners it's been more fun than usual watching pitstop / fashion ruview. BOOT!

Hahah yes I've been slack on the Ruview, I'm sure Violet was not having it at least half the time.

Man, Down Under is so amateur looking. Not just the queens themselves (hi dere parade of corsets with stuff glued on), but the whole production. The lighting is awful, the editing is odd, and the whole thing just looks like it was put together for fifty quid. It's a good thing the queens are so funny.

Huge outdoors drag show here in Montréal last night for Fierté/Pride. Hosted by Rita Baga, who did an awesome job, highlights included La Big Bertha, Priyanka, Nicky Doll, Kylie Sonique Love, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, Ada Vox, Pithya, Ra'Ja O'Hara, Lawrence Cheney, and so many more I can't remember right now. They ended the show with a medley of 20 Céline Dion song clips done by each queen. It was a lot of fun !

I've only seen the first episode, but I can't turn off the English subtitles for some reason and they are pretty bad. Not only for the humor, sometimes it's just plain mistakes.

the last canada ep lipsync was pretty fierce, i half expected double save but that would break this season established tradition of reliably getting rid of the most promising queens

Drag Race Philippines has been pretty enjoyable so far, honestly.

Drag Race Down Under had a satisfactory conclusion, but then I was a bit put off when I read that the winner had previously won a Shmu Shmaul's Shmag Shmace competition in 2020. Which also explains why there's a Drag Race Down Under in the first place.

I also watched the first episode of Jinkx's Sketchy Queens, and it wasn't incredible, but I enjoyed it. It deserves extra writers and a wider audience.

Season 15! Just me, eh? Seems like we could have some fireworks this season.

I have to catch up with the premiere next week, but I saw they’re pushing the “not rupauls best friend race” angle this season

xpost Not just you! Caught up this afternoon. Glad they are basically getting right into it with queens going, but I suspect we're going to have a drawn out season anyway somehow with the MTV boostup. No faves yet but I'm liking a lot of them.

Quick catchup elsewhere that, besides Drag Race Philippines as noted earlier, second season of Drag Race Italia was waaaaay better than the first, they've found their groove now, and it's a good match for the Spanish one. Looking forward to what's next. Liked Drag Race UK well enough, good winner overall. Canada vs. the World was a bit of a timekiller but fun moments. Wondering what happened to Drag Race Holland, should have had season three by now...

And season seven of Unnnhhhhh was magnificent. I love those idiots.

Utterly great. Can't wait to see what the 200th episode will be.

Relatedly, a very good season of We're Here just wrapped up as well. It almost felt like a series finale at the end too, which given the HBO/Warners weirdness this past year wouldn't surprise me, but hopefully not.

Sugar/Spice: Glad they wear their names on a necklace because I'm never going to be able to tell who's who, also, idg the reaction to their performances, which were both one-note and kind of amateurish.
Sasha: I'm here for her DGAF mom vibes and "Zombie."
Marcia^3: hands-down the best thing I've seen on this show in a LONG time
Aura: for all her bulldozing over the other choreographers in the group number, her solo wasn't very good! No real build-up, no shades in her performance.

Yeah that choice of Sasha's was inspired.

maybe it’s because it does seem like there is a lot of charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent in this group so far? although it seems it’s getting to the point where if you don’t have a black belt in taekwondo or 1mil followed don’t even think about trying for this show. 4 of them being from connecticut is a bit weird.

RuPaul’s Drag Race rang in its move to MTV with a ratings win. The Season 15 premiere was the highest-rated in six years with a 0.63 rating among the advertiser-targeted 18-49 demographic.

That’s up 20% in ratings from the Season 14 premiere, which managed a 0.53 in the demo. It ranked as the No. 1 cable entertainment telecast of the day.

prob shouldn’t be surprising given how cultural nostalgia works but it’s funny how many of these younger queens do ditzy materialistic paris hilton type characters… of course they use the phrase Y2K. to me it’s all very kim petras which is a bit of a snooze conceptually and aesthetically given that she got there 5+ years ago. plus no one is ever gonna top willow pill’s entrance look from last season as far as these things go

Good grief, so the combination of going back to just being an hour long with this many more queens meant this episode was like an insane speed run. (And next week is Snatch Game? How in the world are they going to make THAT work?)
