Lunch with my male GOP co-worker:

GOP: Tea, I hate Beto. But I'm going to vote for him

Me (had to ask): Wait what?

GOP (tears): That tape, Tea.(Uvdale) No excuse. Abbott doesn't care. And Roe. (pause) And I actually believe that skinny motherfucker will fix that grid

Me: 🙆🏾‍♀️

WaPo: Secret Service cannot recover texts; no new details for Jan. 6 committee Not really dealt with in actual story, except for phones being replaced maybe, but otherwise, True Crime shows teach us that nothing is ever truly deleted---anyway, the story, with details I hadn't seen (and not paywalled):

17 in all, or listed so far

dow, Tuesday, 19 July 2022 21:31 (three years ago)

And speaking of double-digit perps:

The 16 Republicans who falsely signed certificates claiming to be Georgia’s valid presidential electors have been deemed criminal “targets” by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is investigating efforts by Donald Trump and his allies to overturn the 2020 election results in the state.

Willis indicated this determination in a court filing on Tuesday fending off a legal effort by one of those targets, Burt Jones, to disqualify her from leading the grand jury investigation. Jones, who is running to become Georgia’s lieutenant governor, had contended that Willis’ actions were politically motivated, citing her political support for Jones’ opponent. But Willis said that Jones couldn’t show he was targeted over politics — and that, in fact, she had treated all 16 of the false Republican electors equally.

If a popular bill that united Democrats and fractured Republicans had just passed the House, I'd be inclined to put it on the floor of the Senate ASAP. But what do I know? I'm not a senior Democratic senator, just someone who can't shake some habits of thinking like a Republican. https://t.co/btAX5CfkJv

Ugh , unless Durbin as the whip has been told that not all Senate Dems are on board. If that’s the case we should know who they are.

Of course Dem leadership will tell us the solution is to “Elect! More! Dems!”

so many missed opportunities.

since the financial crisis of 2008 we had extremely low inflation and essentially zero percent interest rates and did we get any truly transformative spending projects? did we fuck. that was the time for something on the scale of building the interstate highway system. it’s gone now.

oh shit, the Trump nuts have discovered the incredible power of 'mathematics':

Failed far-right Nevada Republican gubernatorial candidate Joey Gilbert filed a lawsuit seeking to overturn his primary defeat, citing an "analysis" that found his loss to be a "mathematical impossibility" even after a recount he requested confirmed the results.

Once the results are "statistically corrected," said a copy of the complaint obtained by The Nevada Independent, will show "with irrefutable geometric finality" that Gilbert won by more than 55,000 votes.

The "expert mathematician" cited by Gilbert is infamous election conspiracy theorist Edward Solomon, who falsely claimed to have found evidence that the 2020 presidential election was rigged using an algorithm...

geometry, statistics! All that shit, we got all that shit
