On an entirely different note, J. is at her first day of preschool. I dropped her off and left in tears. I still hate crying in public. Christ.

Fluffy Bear (Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 14:31 (seventeen years ago) link

FB, were you trying to make an image appear? Or don't I want to know? I'm so torn.

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 14:51 (seventeen years ago) link

I dropped her off and left in tears. I still hate crying in public. Christ.

But if you tell her that she'll cry some more. Oh wait.

(More seriously -- it's just the joys of motherhood. Next year when she's at senior prom you'll feel that special glow.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 14:53 (seventeen years ago) link

It is just crazy to me that I've been dying to get her to preschool and then I drop her off and immediately burst into tears. Idiocy.

Tonight is my first class as well, so possibly I am overwrought.

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 14:59 (seventeen years ago) link

BTW, Ned, you think I'm going to let her go to the prom? Ha!

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 15:00 (seventeen years ago) link

Mean. Didn't YOU go? (Or should I ask?)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 15:00 (seventeen years ago) link

If you need someone to take her to the prom, I'll offer my services...as long as she pushes the wheelchair and makes sure I have a fresh oxygen tank.

John Justen, All Dude Dual Groom Swordfight Revue (johnjusten), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 15:34 (seventeen years ago) link

She will be about your ideal age by then, John!

(OOOOOH NO HE DIDN'T)

Young Fresh Danny D (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 15:40 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm like that guy that Anna Nicole Smith married. Except without all the money, and somewhat better looking.

John Justen, All Dude Dual Groom Swordfight Revue (johnjusten), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 15:43 (seventeen years ago) link

Yes, I went to the prom twice. It was more fun my junior year (well, I did have fun with everyone but my date my senior year).

...Aaaaaand now we know why I have yet to introduce my daughter to John.

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 15:57 (seventeen years ago) link

"and somewhat better looking."

How presumtuous of you.

The GZeus (The GZeus), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 16:00 (seventeen years ago) link

No comments here nor there regarding the talking cat work of Rahb and some man named Kevin?
That's a live recording of Kavin talking to his girlfriend's cat, apparantly.
It's not quite that big, though.

The GZeus (The GZeus), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 16:03 (seventeen years ago) link

Due to that "presumptuous" comment, I hope you get pneumonia again.

John Justen, All Dude Dual Groom Swordfight Revue (johnjusten), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 16:05 (seventeen years ago) link

I do have one friend who seems to lust after really old guys (like the crazy king in the Lord of the Rings movies). However, I think that to most women's eyes, John is still an improvement over that, as are the rest of you.

(You're all hotter than octagenarians! I am full of compliments today.)

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 16:05 (seventeen years ago) link

xpost:

The first image was one of John Kerry with guacamole all over his face (Oh, Dan).

The second was of Johnny Depp shedding one single tear, a publicity shot from his starring roll in I Just Dropped Off My Baby at Her First Day of Preschool.

Fluffy Bear (Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 18:12 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm just grateful to be connected to the second category.

John Justen, All Dude Dual Groom Swordfight Revue (johnjusten), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 18:45 (seventeen years ago) link

no, it was a rock chuck : /

gbx (skowly), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 18:50 (seventeen years ago) link

I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT IS. IT'S LIKE YOU LIVE IN "THE LAND OF THE LOST" OR SOMETHING.

Seriously...what color are dinosaurs, really?

John Justen, All Dude Dual Groom Swordfight Revue (johnjusten), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 18:58 (seventeen years ago) link

Marshall, Will and Holly... on a routine expedition...

(That show scared the crap out of me as child, seriously. So gbx, let me offer this advice: avoid the Sleestaks.)

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 19:22 (seventeen years ago) link

gbx gets stuck on I94. "Come on, Dopey! I'll be late for school!"

Fluffy Bear (Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 19:36 (seventeen years ago) link

Well, the herbivores were kind of cute, weren't they.

Land of the Lost is why I've never been able to get through Jurassic Park without feeling flat-out terror.

gbx, I do hope you have some modern weapons at your disposal. A crossbow at the very least.

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 19:45 (seventeen years ago) link

Or an annoying little girl you can throw to the carnivores as a distraction.

Young Fresh Danny D (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 19:57 (seventeen years ago) link

That's a great idea, Dan, but FB is all the way here in Minnesota.

OOOHHH SNAP!

John Justen, All Dude Dual Groom Swordfight Revue (johnjusten), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 19:59 (seventeen years ago) link

I think it's about time to throw another annoying little girl to John as a distraction.

night of the living dead

The GZeus (The GZeus), Thursday, 7 September 2006 09:53 (seventeen years ago) link

Night of the Living Dead meets The Exorcist. I'll never sleep again! (And yet I will still accomplish nothing...)

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Thursday, 7 September 2006 15:49 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh don't worry, Sara, why not check in on what your neighbors in Wisconsin are doing:

Why I have went 2 graveyard dis weekend.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 7 September 2006 15:52 (seventeen years ago) link

And people wonder why I hesitate to go there for holidays. It's not just the weirdness about food and beds people!

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Thursday, 7 September 2006 15:57 (seventeen years ago) link

Although I'm pretty sure no one A. knows is involved in that sort of thing... Wisconsin is just an odd state.

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Thursday, 7 September 2006 15:58 (seventeen years ago) link

Hey, this has absolutely nothing to do with Hastings (except it's my hometown) but what's the name of that company that publishes those sort of small-sized nichey arty books?

subgenius (subgenius), Thursday, 7 September 2006 16:05 (seventeen years ago) link

Never mind, I have it. I was thinking of Taschen.

subgenius (subgenius), Thursday, 7 September 2006 16:08 (seventeen years ago) link

A narrow scrape with aphasia. I wish I could get over it that fast. Usually I have to go to sleep before whatever word I've lost comes back to me.
