That's a loss. I didn't like a lot of the records he painted covers for, but he had an instantly recognizable style and absolutely expanded the parameters of metal imagery.

George was the driving force behind The Golden Dawn and a pioneer/founder of the 60’s Psychedelic Music movement. George was surrounded by family in love as he transitioned from this world to the next. He will be missed greatly.

As a singer, songwriter and guitarist, his musical legacy will live on through his albums, as well as in the mind, hearts and souls of countless young musicians he has influenced over the years. His talent will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this extremely difficult time.

may have to go a digging in the attic over the weekend and revisit ..

Yeah him and John Wagner wrote a lot of my childhood - like a lot of writing partnerships it's hard to tell what's from where. They eventually split up after arguing whether Dredd should kill Chopper - given his later anarchist beliefs I wonder which way they split.
