and who is not flawed? (Matt #2), Saturday, 9 July 2022 18:06 (three years ago)

As I said a few posts back. :-D

If you need a reminder:

Sorry, I missed it!

I watched that clip yesterday and it did not register at all! I watched that show religiously when it aired, but haven't really seen it since. It's largely evaporated from my mind.

RIP, person I thought was already dead but reappeared in the last reel just as Bond was about to bunk down with his latest sweetie who then had to be quickly dispatched before Bond got back to business as the credits rolled while the theme song was reprised.

Judi Dench's Human Hand (methanietanner), Saturday, 16 July 2022 15:23 (three years ago)

That's a loss. I didn't like a lot of the records he painted covers for, but he had an instantly recognizable style and absolutely expanded the parameters of metal imagery.

Jackson del Rey, from Savage Republic and who did much else in turn.

eeply saddened to learn of the passing of Philip Drucker aka Jackson Del Rey. As the only international signing to his label Trakwerx, he funded and released our first 5 albums, not to mention our first US tour. Without him, we simply would not still exist. Forever in your debt. pic.twitter.com/SiChylMPLe

George Kinney, of the pioneering Texas Psychedelic band The Golden Dawn

From FB:

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of George Kinney, on July 18, 2022. George was the driving force behind The Golden Dawn and a pioneer/founder of the 60’s Psychedelic Music movement. George was surrounded by family in love as he transitioned from this world to the next. He will be missed greatly.

As a singer, songwriter and guitarist, his musical legacy will live on through his albums, as well as in the mind, hearts and souls of countless young musicians he has influenced over the years. His talent will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this extremely difficult time.

We love you George. So very much. ❤️

Michael Henderson, Miles Davis's bassist from 1971-75:

aww man, what an absolute monster bassist RIP

Muad'Doob (Moodles), Wednesday, 20 July 2022 03:34 (three years ago)

He's the still centre of those Miles bands. It's just a handful of notes, but there's something so startling about his bass line as it introduces and then underlays the slow part of "Calypso Frelimo".

Halfway there but for you, Wednesday, 20 July 2022 03:50 (three years ago)

The great and somehow still undervalued Alan Grant :(

― Chuck_Tatum,

not here.
any comic which had his name on it was always of interest.
i absolutely soaked up his spin on Lobo, and the stuff he did for Batman/Detective Comics with Norm Breyfogle (i loved his angular stylised art).
may have to go a digging in the attic over the weekend and revisit ..

Yeah him and John Wagner wrote a lot of my childhood - like a lot of writing partnerships it's hard to tell what's from where. They eventually split up after arguing whether Dredd should kill Chopper - given his later anarchist beliefs I wonder which way they split.
