Was announced some time ago that, like Breaking Bad, final season would be in two parts (except only about 6 weeks between them rather than a full year) xp

I have to assume this is for practical purposes due to delays like odenkirk’s heart attack - as a marketing/whatever ploy, a 6-week gap surely achieves literally nothing - but much as I want the next ep now I have to admit that works damn well as its own mini season

I really doubt it is a practical thing, so many shows are doing this now - Ozark and Stranger Things being two others right now.

idk about ozark tho but st is a Netflix “drop all eps in a day and everyone has forgotten it two weeks later” joint right, splitting that into two chunks actually makes sense to me

yeah, same with Ozark. weird thing about ST is that they dropped 7 of the 9 episodes now, saving just 2 for later.

combing for Flea mention, and they got it. Waiting til July is nothing compared to prev waits for this and BB and MM, and thought for sure it would be another year, as usual. This is just enough time to gather our combworthy thoughts and stoke the fires of anticipation (or is it coals that are stoked)

it's weird in that I prefer entire seasons to be dropped at once, but not because I will binge shows. I can't often stomach watching more than two back to back episodes of the same show. I just like the option to be able to regulate it.

for a serial show that's a one a week deal, I tend to put too high expectations on an individual episode and be disappointed.

yeah, I know this is how TV was pre-streaming, obv, but most of the serialized TV I watched prior to Breaking Bad, I only discoverd/watched after it'd already migrated to DVD. I caught up with BB in real time by Season 5 and I remember at first having trouble adjusting to the one at a time format.

then again, it was fun to make BB night an event, invite over my friend who would bring weed, and both of us yell with glee when Uncle Hank pressed the button to push down the garage door before clocking Walt.

xpost yeah the BB wait was hard, but my life was so much better then that I didn't need it so much lol....

Just caught up, holy shit at this show, A+ television, we are lucky to live in this golden age.

based on succession especially i cant even binge a single episode any more -- and also lalo's home invasion -- i just have to pause for five mins when it gets too stressy

(also true of rewatching seinfeld i am a STREAMING SNOWFLAKE now)

The final six episodes will begin airing on Monday, July 11, and finish on August 15 on AMC and AMC+. I gave the half-season a somewhat generous 7.0 in the Last X Movies thread, but I basically agree with you.

So, as it becomes apparent that Howard is Missing, Cliff will have to deal with the Jimmy business, though he still wants to dismiss Howard's ravings as irrelevant at best.

He will probably feel it necessary to report, unless it reflects too badly on the firm, the sweaty grappling behind the white shoe calm.

Guess the firm might have investigators? Not the one Howard hired, actually working for Jimmy.

Seemed to me like cliff pretty much believes howard at this point, he just knows it’s too late to do anything about it as far as sandpiper goes. Def think he’ll be looking at jimmy when Howard’s death/disappearance comes to light

idk I think killing her off would be kinda boring, I mean they already offed two people from the HHM world so hopefully they have something more interesting in mind for her. her and Jesse would make a cute couple I guess

True, and weird, because whatever happens to Kim, it happened before the first time we ever see her.

One thing that makes it tenser than Peggy, I'd say, is that we're not sure if her ending will be happy or sad. I felt close to 100% confident that, whether it involved love or work or both, Peggy was going to be granted a happy ending--maybe not Don, that was up in the air, and maybe not Kim, either.

Who's the vacuum cleaner guy? I still think the New Mexico cabbie who just happens to have relocated to Omaha takes or leads ex-Jimmy/Saul to---Kim, who is pissed---and maybe with Lalo. Or, Lalo's secretly watching her, and he's the one who sent the cabbie to get the manager. Who has a gun, we now know. Although it's just a regular pistol, right? He's no marksman; he needs a semi-automatic.

The two big seeds planted last season that haven’t been addressed: gene’s “I’ll fix it myself” re getting made, & Saul telling Francesca to make/take a call at a certain time & to “tell them jimmy sent you”

I think how Kim’s story shakes out (partic wrt Ed’s vacuum cleaner repair) kinda depends on how they handle the time-jumps. Saul doesn’t become Gene until the shit hits the fan with the Heisenberg business, something like a year after he’s in the desert thinking he’s getting whacked by lalo (which itself is a little bit later than the main bcs timeline, although I think we’re catching up) - so, what, Kim has to use the disappearer due to a crime committed in the current now of the show (Howard’s murder or something else proceeding from it) but Saul is able to stick around and build his low rent criminal lawyer business up to an empire?

I think the fact that Saul isn’t on trial for murder in bb is a good indication that they manage to clean up the crime scene after they concluded their business with lalo (I’d guess with Mike’s help and/or with kim taking charge, as she’s made of sterner stuff). I also reckon if Kim skips town just out of fear of the cartel she will just, like, skip town, not use the vacuum guy. idk this all depends on whether it turns out kim was around during breaking bad

whats interesting to me is in the BB timeline Saul thinks that Lalo is still alive while Gus thinks he's dead. obviously Gus would have to be pretty damn sure given what went down the first time. so either Lalo is about to be killed unbeknownst to Saul or something happens to him during the BB timeline.
