earlier this week -- I was hanging w/my friend Jenny who was telling me that near the end of the Anarchist Bookfair, there was a table of tankies and there was some kind of drama that I wasn't entirely clear on because neither of us had gone, but her husband did and told her about this.

the whole concept of "irl", i spent like two years only talking to one other person irl so... idk. strict divides between online and in-person discourse don't work for me.

mostly it's like _jargon_, leftist _jargon_, i mean where the hell do people use the word "cisheteronormativity" in person, right? well, anywhere you're in person with me, because it's a word that's relevant to my life, i use that word a lot. just because leftist debates are largely irrelevant to people outside leftist circles doesn't mean those disputes are, like, these bitter fights over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin or some shit that's presumably removed from reality.

See, I recognise that this is often the case now, but as an addendum to my post about using it irl I should point out that 'tankie' does not and should not mean 'communist'. Tankies are Stalin supporters/authoritarian regime apologists.
