The reality distortion field of those filter bubbles can’t be overcome with mere rationality.

Speaking of fake moderates-- I was listening to Tim Pool's debate with Matt Binder and watching that guy try to sound like the reasonable centrist is hilarious.

For instance, Pool starts by claiming he is pro-choice, but then says he doesn't support codifying Roe v. Wade because Roe did not allow enough restrictions, then claims that leftists want to abort fetuses that could survive outside the mother, then says he will proudly stand with pro-lifers because this (made-up) leftist position is so terrible.

"trot" is certainly a pre-internet term, it was being used at least as far back as the 60's. Yeah trotskyite or generally just a derogatory term for a lefty shithead!

what are the differences between trots and tankies? people I know who call themselves trots seem better than people I know who self-describe as "tankies"

"trotskyite" was a stalinist term of abuse, basically a inter-sectarian slur -- less abusive is "trotskyist" if you prefer to be more diplomatically neutral (you won't start a fight but you may snag yrself a lecture lol) (the lecture i snagged informed me that the sect in question actually considered themselves LENINISTS)
