Slogged through 101 guesses. I got 'teacher' 558/1000 early on which sent me off in all the wrong directions. Interesting that grandmother and mother are way higher than grandfather and father.

that was quite a slog, didn't even get close until 80 odd guesses where infant sent me in the right direction.

second guess "woman" again because why not... 751. then "man" which was only 302, so some more womanly words... aunt/womanly/female/girl, none of which hit. "person" was 607. so switch to professions. "lawyer" is always one of my first guesses. that was 909 so i tried legislator. i'm never going to have this luck again

Got it in 49 guesses. Similar, albeit more long-winded path to X. First green was person, then it was just working through professions etc.

Yeah this was turning out like yesterday (after 70 guesses I had 998, 997, 996, 994) so I turned to the thesaurus :/ I'm not sure I'd have come up with it myself, it doesn't strike me as a common word at all - maybe more so in the US?

Got #96 in 40! Unusually good showing for me. 8 guesses, PBKR, wow! I thought this would be a hard one because the word is kind of unusual even in the US and if you went through a mental list of elected officials like I did I'd think the word would often be missed.

Yeah I gave up as well after 200-odd guesses and a hint. And I'm not sure I'd have guessed it had I persevered. I think adverbs are inherently more difficult than other parts of speech in this game.

this was hard! After over a hundred cold guesses and very low greens, I started randomly punching in words without thinking too hard and got lucky with “seldom” and “sometimes” which put me on the right path. Needed a thesaurus to get past 999/1000 though.

I thesaurus cheated after 224, which is as bad as giving up imo. I guess I might have got it if i'd continued to wrack my brain to think of another word for the same thing I'd already thought of twenty words for.
