For a while I kept seeing the lightning before hearing any thunder and was wondering if there was some kind of mirror truck outside on the street.

That was fucking nuts. I too had the exploding power plant theory. I’ve also never heard the “timpani roll” part of the crash be so long and so deep

FUCKING INSANE.
Posted some stories from my walk to kid's school. Last time it flooded like this in Woodside, cars were literally being picked up and tossed down the street. I was tempted to go back home but I have a meeting today at my shop and had left my computer there so couldn't work from home anyway. It's just a few blocks but I got absolutely drenched. Definitely shouldn't have worn sneakers. It's really really bad out there.

I was already planning to go in to work late but if this keeps up I may bail entirely. I love a good storm but that is s but much

It’s especially bad considering how many basement apts are illegal and how many are the homes for undocumented people.

Plumber has been trying to diagnose a long-standing leak over here, punched a hole in our wall just in time for this storm and now there is some kind of spray behind the plastic they put up over the hole which is leaking slowly onto the floor, feels like maybe is something draining from the roof.
