Genuinely stunned and gutted by this. I had no idea he'd been sick; his weekly podcast had been a mix of old and new content lately, so I guess it makes sense. RIP.

Truly rotten! And there he was with some of the best memories of Bob Saget not that long back as well.

His USA Up All Night run remains underrated.

Aw man that sucks. A real delight of recent years for me was listening to old episodes of his podcast, especially classic tv stars like Butch Patrick, or even Alan Alda. He was such a fan, and always got great stories, i loved him the most when he was in that mode. the Buscemi ep was hilarious too.

Truly a legend & an unforgettable comedic voice.

I had one very brief personal encounter with GG when I was working as an usher at a benefit show where he was on the bill. I showed him where the bathroom was. He very polite and grateful. So, put him down as "nice to ushers."

Jazz bassist Charnett Moffett. He was only 54. Played on Wynton Marsalis's best album (Black Codes From The Underground) when he was 17, and Sonny Sharrock's Ask The Ages when he was maybe 25.

I interviewed him in 2014, when he put out an album with the Heliocentrics. Never did get to see him live, sadly.

Seeing on FB that Noel Monk, road manager for the Sex Pistols & Van Halen (and author of separate memoirs of working with both), has passed away.
