We've only driven past Pickles Gap, but we did stop at the fireworks tent across the street.

Here's Part 1:

kiddie land may well be the creepiest thing i have ever seen on the internet.

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Wednesday, 8 October 2008 03:53 (seventeen years ago)

I am very thankful for all the pumpkin ale love, here. In fact, I'm very surprised. Last conversation I had about pumpkin ale on this board didn't meet with much approval of it. I also like pumpkin pie, and I have been known to eat just plain old pumpkin. I adore it.

Surmounter, Wednesday, 8 October 2008 06:09 (seventeen years ago)

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Wednesday, 8 October 2008 06:16 (seventeen years ago)

yr on, enbb, cuz we just bought some big pumpkins. also, ai lien makes the best pumpkin soup on planet.

andrew m., Wednesday, 8 October 2008 14:27 (seventeen years ago)

will keep this in mind after next week, as right now if i baked something with pumpkin i'd be the only person in the family eating it (even my pumpkin bread, which tastes like CAKE), but my roommates should comply.

last night i did attempt to make fries out of yams to go with chili, but it turns out a yam is not a sweet potato and doesn't fry like one either.

Maria, Wednesday, 8 October 2008 16:16 (seventeen years ago)

i think if you cut up the yam in fry shapes and bake it in a pan with some olive oil that might work but maybe still too mushy

i made pumpkin soup last year and did not like

lil yawne (harbl), Wednesday, 8 October 2008 16:19 (seventeen years ago)

i fried it on the stove in canola oil because a friend who was there told me he's tried at yam fries in the oven and it really didn't work. it's not that they're mushy, it's that they don't actually become crispy, just chewy. we've come to the conclusion the problem is yams.

i love almost everything pumpkin, but i much prefer butternut squash soup to pumpkin soup.

Maria, Wednesday, 8 October 2008 16:23 (seventeen years ago)

You all are beginning to look like pumpkins?

Tuomas, Wednesday, 8 October 2008 21:24 (seventeen years ago)

There's something hilarious about that picture. I think it's the combination of the facial expression + the Michael Jordan slamdunk t-shirt

burt_stanton, Thursday, 9 October 2008 01:43 (seventeen years ago)

Pumpkin. On head. Pumkin on head.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c287/expatrica/031.jpg

ps - Taken a picture of self with tiny pumpkin perched on head is much harder than you would probably think.

Zangelbert Bingledack (ENBB), Thursday, 9 October 2008 02:12 (seventeen years ago)

Oh shit - that pic is a little bigger than I thought. Sorry.

Zangelbert Bingledack (ENBB), Thursday, 9 October 2008 02:13 (seventeen years ago)

OK wtf. I can't spell, type or resize pictures today. I fail but at least I have a wee pumpkin and glasses still.

Zangelbert Bingledack (ENBB), Thursday, 9 October 2008 02:16 (seventeen years ago)

Pumpkins arent orange where I come from. I should photograf one to show you all. They're kind of greyish blue!
