Looks great!

Lead seems like a fun actor! Feels like that's mostly been the missing x factor since Endgame
― Chuck_Tatum, Tuesday, 15 March 2022 14:45 (four years ago)
As much as I love the Moon Knight character, seems like might be nice for some lighter fare after what will presumably be a very dark and dour series (not that I'm not stoked for it, still).
― a superficial sheeb of intelligence (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Tuesday, 15 March 2022 14:47 (four years ago)
I mean Hawkeye had its humor and all but yes this feels more specifically giddy.
― Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 15 March 2022 14:53 (four years ago)
I’m interested in the adaption of Ms. Marvel’s powers for this. It looks like the source is Infinity Stone-esque, which is probably for the best given how badly The Inhumans tanked (pour one out for Agents of SHIELD, though). It seems that shapeshifting has been adapted into somewhat more generalized “energy powers that also allow body elongation” that reads as more powerful on the screen?
― castanuts (DJP), Tuesday, 15 March 2022 15:16 (four years ago)
Gotta set up the elongation for the third Fantastic Four attempt.
On a related note, I'm assuming Moon Knight will start the introduction of vampires to the MCU ahead of Blade (unless that's the intent of Morbius, though it doesn't seem like those Sony flicks are intended to serve that purpose).

Maybe more kids in Marvel will mollify the prudes complaining about Daredevil et al. coming to Disney+.
― Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 15 March 2022 15:41 (four years ago)
Have they announced when "She-Hulk" is set to air? I assume that may be another fun one.
― Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 15 March 2022 15:44 (four years ago)
gotta find a green actress

They got the actor, they just haven't figured out the turning her green part yet.

MCU could've been so much better

looks like the Netflix shows are officially going to be on Disney+
they sent an email out saying that you need to “update your Parental Controls to show more mature content”

Disney: After Hours.

“The truth is that nobody is one layer,” Zhao continues, “In this case, we truly stepped out of the box that I think the world put us in, and met in the middle because of our shared interests. And by truly doing that, it made a lot of people uncomfortable on both sides. But there are also people who are more comfortable with the order of their world (being) disturbed. And then they look at our love-child and go, ‘Oh! This touches different sides of me!’ I like that. So I completely understand the divisiveness coming from critics and the fans. Because when you take this to extremes that are seen as opposition—the world I come from and the world of Marvel, that has been divided in a way that’s so unfair and unfortunate—and to merge the way we did, I actually see the reaction as a testament to how much we had merged with each other; how uncomfortable that might make people feel.”
Or, maybe your movie was just bad and boring? Until I saw this interview just now I literally forgot the movie even existed.
― Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 16 March 2022 20:47 (four years ago)

gross

Side one: I like boring things!Side two: I like bad things!Zhao: What if I told you I could bring both sides together? Both sides: Sounds terrible! We love it!

I have no doubt that she could make a great MCU movie, this was the absolute wrong property. (And honestly, could any director have made this a great movie?)
― Legalize Suburban Benches (Raymond Cummings), Wednesday, 16 March 2022 22:13 (four years ago)
they’d need a cool angle, which has yet to exist in the comics. as far as I could tell, they riffed on the Neil Gaiman series a bit and added in the dance numbereven Jack Kirby’s original take was “uhh, I did the New Gods thing at DC and want to do more stuff like that” and it was just… halfhearted?

Interesting going w/ Rich Rider versus new Sam Alexander (who was in Ms. Marvel's Champions team, maybe an easier intro connection). Rich is 'my' Nova. RR/Nova also opens up having the Annihilation War as a big Phase finale event, plus his relationship with the Guardians and other space MCU characters.

Loved Moon Knight E1.

Yeah, it was a lot of fun. Thought Isaac was great.
― groovypanda, Wednesday, 30 March 2022 19:43 (four years ago)
Looking forward to more of it anyway.Don't know the character much
― Stevolende, Wednesday, 30 March 2022 20:58 (four years ago)
I need the entire season now

Englebert!! Love that choice <3
― terminators of endearment (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 31 March 2022 05:31 (four years ago)
Thought Isaac's accent would infuriate me, but he was very likeable by the end.
I guess the MCU has reached the "low-selling 1990s Peter Milligan miniseries" portion of its content, which, great
― Chuck_Tatum, Thursday, 31 March 2022 09:20 (four years ago)
I would have watched another couple of episodes straight off if it was being dropped like that. Got a few other things to catch up on though.Kept forgetting what time Killing Eve was on so turning onto it half way through but have now watched most of teh season.
― Stevolende, Thursday, 31 March 2022 09:22 (four years ago)
Love too try and make oscar issac seem dorky and not handsome

i mean he cant not look the way he looks but he did a p good job of seeming shlubby when he did the terrible shirt & tie … and the bags under his eyes look v authentic
― terminators of endearment (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 1 April 2022 01:25 (four years ago)
dorky AND handsome is pretty much oscar isaac's brand tbh
― Roz, Friday, 1 April 2022 01:36 (four years ago)
I am amused by his performance I was not clear!
― Its big ball chunky time (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Friday, 1 April 2022 01:36 (four years ago)
a part of my soul died when steven ordered the well done steak
― terminators of endearment (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 1 April 2022 01:54 (four years ago)
yeah wish they had released the whole show, this was a fun opener, Isaac's lame "laterz gatorz" was such a lonely, Nathan barley-esque catchphrase and that well done steak scene was pretty sad and tragic, a man melting, in his bizarre world. Enjoyed pharoah hawke scenes, he's up for this mystic guru schtick. Don't know anything about this character so have no clue where this is going. kinda wish they didn't use an identikit venom voice for his alternate persona, was a bit distracting.
― Swanswans, Friday, 1 April 2022 07:36 (four years ago)
I thought the Khonshu voice was an… interesting choice. I did crack up when I saw in the credits that it’s F. Murray Abraham
― mh, Friday, 1 April 2022 13:29 (four years ago)
i have a dumb queztion - is the statue he sat & talked to meant to be someone recognizable? or is it just Random Statue of a Guy Gesturing
― terminators of endearment (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 1 April 2022 15:24 (four years ago)
The street performer? He's a character from the comics but no-one you'd recognise from the MCU
― groovypanda, Friday, 1 April 2022 15:30 (four years ago)
ok thx - i wasnt thinking MCU so much as general popular culture
― terminators of endearment (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 1 April 2022 15:48 (four years ago)
Frenchie "Duchamp's" number was in the cell phone, so I am sure he will show up at some point.
I got to wonder if at some point 'Jake Lockely' will show up.

Also looking ahead to the Echo series, a snippet via io9:
According to costumer Stacey Caballero’s resume on her personal website, both Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio will return for the Echo spinoff series at Disney+.
― Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 16:30 (four years ago)
Ooh looking fwd to that one.
Meanwhile, Moon Knight continues to be good, loved ep 2. Oscar Isaac has excellent comic timing.
― Roz, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 17:00 (four years ago)
Absolutely, especially with himself
