i have a tendency to start with words related to building systems and guessed "vent" and "door" and when "door" was closer than "vent" i guessed "welcome" and then was close

Oh thank god most of the rest of you struggled with this one too. I was expecting my usual thing of opening up the thread to find everyone got it in under 30, where I was stuck until 161.

Took me over 70 to get to 986, another 100 to get to 996 and I'm still stuck.

took fucking ages despite getting a green at about guess 32 and guessing a variation of the word about 100 guesses before i hit the right one. and in the meantime a whole ilx clusterfuck had been born, lived and died (idk i haven't actually read to the end of the threads but it felt like an eternity to do today's Semantle)

I sort of sensed religion was not the answer, and neither were funerals, but I got stuck again. All it would have taken was a simple hello…

#45 -- back to my old slow self at 143 guesses -- i had the same two mid greens johnny did but also terms i associated with baseball and still am unclear why those are close to the word except for maybe the fact that there are probably a lot of articles about sports in the dataset used to determine proximity

Gave up, after getting a couple of greens that were of no help. I did guess 'square', which you'd think would be high up in the greens, but it was cold.

like if yr green guesses were field, blue, sky, infield, ball, fence, arc, arch, plus pitch, dugout, and crowd around 19% ...

idk what do the rest of you think about it seeming like sports terms are often closer to the word than you would think if you were just thinking about words

my first high but non-green was "dancing" so that was my route: pirouetting, twirling, spinning, whirling before making the jump to adjacent words
