The 1-second clip immediately triggered the artist for me, but then I played it again and it sounded less familiar, and I wondered why I'd had that initial thought. It took a couple of skips before I realized I'd been right all along.

seems to me that the octordle is actually easier than the quordle because of the extra guesses.

i've found that pretty much any quordle is solvable if you just burn your first 3 guesses on 15 common letters. i imagine octordle is even easier if you do that. but that's no fun.

I think these kind of games are more fun if you're not being too strategic about it. Just enter whatever 5 letter word pops into your mind and go from there. I was listening to the new Ghost album so started with 'devil'.

Yeah I saw some people trying to work out the best first guess and to me that takes the fun out of it

I immediately went into letter elimination mode and still had to guess in order to get it in 6

if your goal is to get some 2's then you're better off using different and arbitrary first guesses every day rather than sticking to one optimal one, a stopped clock is only right twice a day whereas a clock thats completely freaking out could be right more often. this is more fun than using something like RAISE to optimize getting it in 3 every time

Heardle is not exactly trying to make things difficult, its database seems to consist of 21st century smash hits only, but I’m still pleased I got my first one-go answer today.

Heardle annoyed me when I hit a few songs I only knew from the radio and they played the intro that I hadn't ever heard before (like the Ariana Grande one from several days ago).

was playing the solution to Heardle and feeling inspired, I entered “shoes” in Wordle. that wasn’t it, but I did get it in two

Heardle's list of possible guesses continues to irritate me. They have zero Beyonce songs (yet several Destiny's Child songs?), zero Maroon 5 songs, zero Weezer songs... there is like no rhyme or reason as to what's in there.

I missed this at the time but there is a spinoff called Byrdle already, it is wordle for choral geeks and I love it.

There's definitely some Beyonce songs as Halo was the answer the other day xps

Might have been the only one as looks like songs are removed from the song list once they've been the song of the day (yesterday's song no longer appears in the search for example)

It's funny how Worldle will jump from painfully obvious to virtually impossible. Like when it was brazil recently, I was like "come the fuck on." But then another recent one was BOUVET ISLAND, which I had never even heard of and basically just looks like a little, smooth, round bump.

Today's Framed was obvious from the first and the previous of days obvious from the second. I've only been doing it this week.

The Worldle game was much too difficult for me.

Today's framed took me two tries since I never saw the movie. They should make something like this that checks your letterboxd and only quizzes you for movies you've already seen.

Worldle is the one of these I've found the most fun. Any game that ends up making me spend 15 minutes reading the wikipedia article on Svalbard is good.

I love that about Worldle too - all these tiny island groups and making me realize I generally know where countries are by their name and not their outlines! Like, who knew Guernsey was its own actual thing - I really had no idea except it had cows and sweaters, so I thought it was some chunk of the UK.

I only play Wordle, Tradle, and Poeltl

The thing about Wordle is it appears to be the Rich Man's Word game.

There are much tougher word games that are so conspicuously competitive but all of these assholes posting to social media don't want to be humiliated by people who do something much more difficult.

Worldle has taught me that I don't know anything about geography and also there are a lot of islands.

But my boyfriend couldn't get Mexico the other day, that was nice. He usually beats me.

Watching "lingo" this week, one young couple were amazing, usually I can guess the word just before they do, but not once was I ahead of them.

Wow. I felt lucky to get it in 3, since there's no way I would've made it my first guess.

When I was studying geography for LL, I made a point of the remembering its shape and arrangement, but even then, I wasn't sure about it today.
