got high in friends' places

Resident Papist (Tom D.), Thursday, 3 March 2022 14:23 (four years ago)

the taming of McD was quite a sad sight. I now look back on the '15-'19 as a period of personal delusion and naivety now. Because sometimes you need to construct an internal fantasy that there are good people who are more than career politicians and are principled and uncompromising street fighting radicals who won't be fucked with, lol kowtowing to Kieth is as soft as shit as it gets.

calzino, Thursday, 3 March 2022 15:05 (four years ago)

OTOH (according to friend’s niece who worked in his constituency office) many of the SCG members want to hang on to their seats because they are first and foremost about helping constituents in ways that suitcase Labour MPs are incapable of doing.

the thin blue lying (suzy), Thursday, 3 March 2022 15:32 (four years ago)

I've seen too many villainous knaves described as good constituency MPs, and it's fair to say most of the problems their constituents face in these times have been a cross party project. And why give a highly paid MP any credit for doing what are supposed to do? Especially since they just got another very generous payrise!

calzino, Thursday, 3 March 2022 15:46 (four years ago)

An understandable rationale, up to a point, but in big picture terms calz otm

Clearer than ever that propping the corpse of the LP is not helping the working class and its interests

calzino, Thursday, 3 March 2022 18:24 (four years ago)

Be exciting if they could lose Erdington tonite but surely, tragically, no

I have a voulez-vous? with death (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 3 March 2022 18:29 (four years ago)

I want them to lose every seat, but they are overwhelming 1/100 faves to hold Erdington. The Mail and The Telegraph are both running smear pieces on the Labour candidate that actually makes her sound half decent, but that can't be right!

calzino, Thursday, 3 March 2022 18:52 (four years ago)

it's not that big a majority is it? those odds seem daft, lose a couple of thou to people who will never vote Kieth, Tories vote holds steady, badabing

I have a voulez-vous? with death (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 3 March 2022 19:55 (four years ago)

I quoted the shortest price, but it's still generally 1/20 across the board. Maybe because the good people of Erdington were very fond of the late Jack Dromey. Who was apparently a very good constituency MP. I hear sometimes he'd personally sign letters to constituents typed out by unpaid interns and always declare donations made to him by dodgy fuckers.

lol they might still win or lose this by Batley + Spen proportions. And this is with the added benefit of the sitting MP *tragically passing* and the Tories polling low. I find it quite encouraging that it's increasingly obvious that people are turning out for them in much lower numbers.

calzino, Friday, 4 March 2022 01:10 (four years ago)

i don't even own a bestseller (Noodle Vague), Friday, 4 March 2022 01:13 (four years ago)

the next GE I'm going out campaigning on the doorsteps locally. My message is going to be clear: you would be better off drinking poison than voting for Labour and Kieth is aligned to paedophiles, rapists and arms manufactures and is just as much a class enemy as Boris Johnson is!

calzino, Friday, 4 March 2022 01:38 (four years ago)

Ukrainian oligarch Mikhail "Watford" Tolstosheya being found mysteriously dead in his home on Monday may just be a random event and the police are saying there are no suspicious circumstances. Because if there were suspicious circumstances this would be a very big story and wouldn't have just got reported yesterday.

calzino, Friday, 4 March 2022 07:45 (four years ago)

Good showing by Tusk and Refuck.

Resident Papist (Tom D.), Friday, 4 March 2022 07:49 (four years ago)

Especially since they just got another very generous payrise!

Some, like Z Sultana, are passing this on to local food banks, etc.

the pinefox, Friday, 4 March 2022 09:18 (four years ago)

What did this geezer have to do with Watford? Sounds a big story indeed!

the pinefox, Friday, 4 March 2022 09:19 (four years ago)

He just wanted a classic made up Brit surname like Windsor. "More tea Mr Watford?" "It's Mr Troy-Deeney now pal!"

calzino, Friday, 4 March 2022 11:02 (four years ago)

back in the day Robert Maxwell adopted an innocuously English sounding name approach. Baron Kagan anglicised his name but mostly retained the og one. Perhaps it never occurred to them to consider the shitest towns of Hertfordshire for inspiration!

calzino, Friday, 4 March 2022 11:51 (four years ago)

Had to lol at this shit.

I'm sorry but of all the Corbynite policies that the Tories have surreptitiously nicked post-election, expropriating the homes of billionaires to house refugees is the funniest. https://t.co/ogaWkWyiZF

xyzzzz__, Friday, 4 March 2022 14:47 (four years ago)

On the by election front this makes some sense although I doubt the Tory vote can be that low. But in an economy burnt by inflation, rising energy costs and who knows where the housing market will be at.

Sorry but apathy is good for Kier Starmer - it’s how he wins. If next GE has a turnout of 55% and he gets 40% of that he could become prime minister. That’s about 10 million votes (15% of the country).

xyzzzz__, Friday, 4 March 2022 14:51 (four years ago)

it's not all apathy, there is plenty of outright hatred as well I reckon. But Mandelson said it himself on PM around the time of the Hartlepool by-election, something about how they are being more selective to which voters they are appealing to now 🤢 I really hope such a repugnant and morally bankrupt strategy goes badly wrong for them.

Unite strikes a landmark agreement with one of the UK's largest #NHS trusts to end the two tier workforce. Covid has put the treatment of NHS workers in the spotlight. Unite will now ramp-up pressure on other trusts - they can no longer look the other way. https://t.co/98USuKdkSg pic.twitter.com/uBWBdvGE0E

You’re fleeing your home in Ukraine in probably the worst thing that’s ever happened to you. What does the Labour Party say?

Sky News Presenter: "The Labour party isn't calling for Visa waivers at the moment, is it?"

Yvette Cooper confirms Labour Party policy is to require Ukrainian refugees to apply for, and be granted, visas. (1/2) pic.twitter.com/lZ4QI4G06u

Alfred Ndwego of Kenya (Tom D.), Wednesday, 9 March 2022 11:47 (four years ago)

they love wearing the flag colours and using Zelensky as an opportunity blather out platitudes and tributes, but the war refugees those colours represent .. no they can fuck off and join the queue. Well anything other than waiving visas probably amounts to that, but Labour can't seem soft on immigration to a few thousand gammons in Shitsdale.

calzino, Wednesday, 9 March 2022 12:02 (four years ago)

I put Radio 4 on for a minute while making breakfast this morning and a voice said "we have Yvette Cooper" and I was back in the loving arms of Radio 3 like a flash

going to ask the oli g taskforce to cancel Levi Colwill's Chelsea contract to save him from the shame of being an unwitting Putin minion.

what is the distinction between an "oligarch" and an "entrepreneur" or "wealth creator" other than them being foreigns. Because as far I can see they are all thieves and crooks who hold power + influence over equally corrupt politicians, including the billionaires born in the UK.

Currently pay £110 direct debit for gas and electricity, to fix rate now £538 a month. This is robbery.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
