is this show on in the UK at all? i've seen some episodes during transatlantic trips this year, and have become fond of it.

three months pass...

I DID NOT HATE THE USE OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE BIG STAR SONGS DURING THE CLOSING MOMENTS OF LAST NIGHT'S EPISODE. that's how i know i like this show. cuz if a lesser show had used a song like thirteen to be "touching" i might hate them for it. cuz i am an infant like that. that whole scene was total cusack territory. but it worked somehow.

britney was an awesome guest star. she should come back.

and, so, it looks like that doctor is the mother of how i met your mother.

i realize i am probably talking to myself here...

scott seward, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 16:17 (eighteen years ago)

You mean this whole time, they haven't said who the mother is?

That's like Lamont not showing up until Season 4 of "Sanford & Son".

Pleasant Plains, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 16:24 (eighteen years ago)

oh it's back!

rrrobyn, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 16:26 (eighteen years ago)

no, at the beginning of every show they show the future and you see dude's future kids and bob saget's voice telling them about his life and how he met their mother. but you never knew who the mother would be. but i think this woman is her. they bumped into each other at a club on st.patrick's day on the premiere episode.

scott seward, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 16:27 (eighteen years ago)

rrrobyn sparkles x-post

scott seward, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 16:28 (eighteen years ago)

anyway, on the first show, future dude/bob saget told his kids that their mother was at that club that night and they didn't meet. but he bumped into this woman for a brief second and i think it was the doctor lady from last night's episode.

scott seward, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 16:29 (eighteen years ago)

haa

this show is single-handedly keeping the traditional sitcom alive - (i'm not counting 30 rock in that genre) - and maybe the traditional sitcom should die but not until this show is over
xpost

rrrobyn, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 16:33 (eighteen years ago)

This show is really clever at times. Maybe I'm a dolt, but the whole mustache thing was super funny to me.

Super Cub, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 17:10 (eighteen years ago)

I've tried to like this. It's just so...sitcommy.

Trip Maker, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 17:13 (eighteen years ago)

scott the doc's almost definitely not the mom but almost definitely was gonna be the mom until alicia silverstone pulled out of the ep - her from scrubs is only gonna be on a few eps (cuz she gotta go work on scrubs).

balls, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 20:50 (eighteen years ago)

just because shes the mom doesnt mean shell be in a ton of episodes from now on, though!

69, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 21:00 (eighteen years ago)

Also Scrubs is off the air after this season.

HI DERE, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 21:05 (eighteen years ago)

There is a god.

Pleasant Plains, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 21:10 (eighteen years ago)

still liking this show a lot

Michael F Gill, Friday, 28 March 2008 02:27 (eighteen years ago)

last week's was pretty good, until The Moral of the Story (drunk Ted is a dick) ending

milo z, Friday, 28 March 2008 02:30 (eighteen years ago)

the doogie howser moment at the the end of the show tonight was so so classic.

Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 01:10 (eighteen years ago)

so gonna happen

Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 01:18 (eighteen years ago)

Barney ep tonight = good. Who doesn't love continuity whoring on this show! Kind of a cop-out with the ending, though.

Nhex, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 01:31 (eighteen years ago)

the 20 (!) minute song at tedmosbyisajerk.com is a future dementia classic.

Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 01:58 (eighteen years ago)

WOW WHAT A SONG!!!!!

kudos for that!

scott seward, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 03:20 (eighteen years ago)

Amazing. Hard to believe that CBS gave the green light on that. It almost something you'd put on a mixtape next to Brainticket, "Diary Of An Unborn Child", and Jandek's acapella material.

I checked the tag information at http://www.tedmosbyisajerk.com/audio.mp3, and the artist is tagged as The Solids, who do the HIMYM theme song I believe.

Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 04:25 (eighteen years ago)

ok, the song starts out good and then graduates to amazing about 3/5 of the way in, when it's just her mumbling while a sax squawks

milo z, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 04:40 (eighteen years ago)

omg. Around 16:00, it becomes totally batshit crazy insane amazing. This is going on my top 10 songs of the year list.

THE TRIUMPHANT RETURN OF ROBIN SPARKLES!!!

scott seward, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 01:05 (eighteen years ago)

show has been killing it post-strike

Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 04:52 (eighteen years ago)

video wasn't as good as the first one and neil patrick harris is right that the show shouldn't resort to so much stunt casting, but, still good.

akm, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 06:10 (eighteen years ago)

the full video on myspace was funnier than the snippet on the show. the melody is very much "i think we're alone now".

i think the stunt casting is currently needed to prop the ratings up. Himym hasn't been renewed for next season as of yet.

Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 16:22 (eighteen years ago)

death metal puppy montage was the a+ moment

n/a, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 16:27 (eighteen years ago)

also a fan of punchy

n/a, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 16:32 (eighteen years ago)

looking forward to the episode of awkwardness to follow

milo z, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 19:55 (eighteen years ago)

Good stuff, though I am getting a little annoyed by the stunt casting. Whatever it takes for the show to survive, I guess. They should've given us more Alan Thicke!

I was a bit disappointed by the video too, but it was really impossible to live up to "Let's Go to the Mall". Also it is funnier if you watch it complete, off the website.

Will Bobin pick up enough mileage to the season finale? I just hope next season we don't see a bunch of silly filler episodes as both of them go dating their separate ways to start off... still, this season has picked up, but it seems impossible at this point to catch up with last year's quality.

Nhex, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 20:49 (eighteen years ago)

love this show

balls, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 21:52 (eighteen years ago)

i thought it really brought the lolz last night, moreso than it has recently.

Gukbe, Tuesday, 29 April 2008 16:15 (eighteen years ago)

great show.

M@tt He1ges0n, Tuesday, 29 April 2008 16:18 (eighteen years ago)

as much as i like 30 rock, this is more consistently funny and on point.

M@tt He1ges0n, Tuesday, 29 April 2008 16:18 (eighteen years ago)

wtf, tvguide.com told me that CBS was running Big Brother in HIMYM's timeslot last night so I let my girlfriend was Bones and missed a new episode! not trusting that fuckin' site ever again.

Alex in Baltimore, Tuesday, 29 April 2008 16:36 (eighteen years ago)

i thought it really brought the lolz last night, moreso than it has recently

Yeah, it was one of the better eps, definitely.

o. nate, Tuesday, 29 April 2008 19:38 (eighteen years ago)

I love the way they set up these things for the future. So we know that Robin and Ted will be living together this time next year (assuming the show isn't cancelled) in the apartment, probably after Marshall and Lily move out.

Nhex, Tuesday, 29 April 2008 22:37 (eighteen years ago)

The extender arm reaching back through the window to get the $20 was classic.

I've never seen this show, but I keep seeing it -- sans audio -- on the overhead screens on American Airlines' flights. And every time I see it there, I think (a) Wow! That's Doogie Howser, M.D. and the sidekick girl from Buffy The Vampire Slayer, (b) lots of fast camera movement here, and (c) this show seems plucky!

Anyway, I've been meaning to watch an episode. You know, with sound.

impudent harlot, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 04:41 (eighteen years ago)

Renewed!

Last night's episode was pretty bad.

Gukbe, Tuesday, 13 May 2008 23:35 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, definitely the weakest in a while. Still really glad it's safe for another season, though.

Alex in Baltimore, Tuesday, 13 May 2008 23:59 (eighteen years ago)

^Ditto.
