I like that this thread is distinct from “ppl you thought were dead but aren’t”, it’s more of a thing where you passively assume someone died cause you haven’t heard about them in a long time vs actively believing them to have died. I’m slightly embarrassed to admit I often think actors are dead if they died in things, the most silly one being I always think Richard Jenkins is dead cause he played the dead dad in 6 feet under

this one was good bcz we actally argued abt it in the pub before looking it up and not *everyone* was wrong abt what we wd find when we did

he was an excellent dead dad in Olive Kitteridge as well, so I did have a "oh is he still going" moment when he popped up in that pointless Nightmare Alley remake.

There could also be a "People who should be dead but aren't" thread for personalities that we've only just learned about.

For ex, there's a guy named Bob Richards who turns 96 today who won medals in pole vaulting in the 1948, 1952, and 1956 Olympics. He was the first ever athlete depicted on the front of a box of Wheaties. Also he ran for US President in 1984 representing the far right "Populist Party."
