Is there a way to search for an exact phrase in ILX search? In Google you can do this by enclosing the search term in double-quotes, unfortunately in ILX search this doesn't work.

If I search for posts containing the term “blue monday” (with quotes), and sort by newest first, then why is the first result a post that mentions Monday (the day of the week) and not the word “blue” at all? Also, if I go back and remove the quotes I get the exact same set of results, so the presence of quotes makes no difference.

Go to Search page
Under Text Search, terms: "blue monday"
Next line, click radio button for "Posts"
Under "Order Results By," click radio button for "Newest First"
Click "Search" button right under that.

your browser (phone?) is helpfully converting your straight quotes (") to "smart quotes". suspect the search software wants straight ones.

i have been using 'b' for a while (to bookmark a thread or update a bookmark to the latest post on a thread), but 's' is new to me! i do think using the two in tandem could lead to subconscious drives to suggest ban people, but sometimes you have to take risks for shortcut conveniences
