Now that’s what I call a truth bomb

No shortage of people weeping for e.g. batoned protesters in Cuba or Iran who would be only too happy to see them getting whacked in the dome right outside their front doors

In Left Media News:

Aaron Bastani has been banned from Twitter.

I suspect it relates to today's Julian Assange hearing, but that's merely a guess.

the pinefox, Friday, 10 December 2021 11:00 (four years ago)

wow there's two people I should really be supportive towards, but I can't stand either of them!

I've just been chuckling at some CLOWN on twitter with "Anarchist" in his bio who has posted that he will vote for Starmer Labour if they back PR.

calzino, Friday, 10 December 2021 11:07 (four years ago)

The confluence of censortech and digital harassment campaigns is bad for journalism and bad for politics. I think we are very early in this turn and things are going to get quite a lot worse. https://t.co/MNBedRDbrm

— James B (@piercepenniless) December 10, 2021

The only comment I can currently find on this matter.

the pinefox, Friday, 10 December 2021 11:08 (four years ago)

Rivkah Brown keeps getting suspended because her political enemies (Gnasher types) keep mass reporting her tweets.

the thin blue lying (suzy), Friday, 10 December 2021 11:10 (four years ago)

Suzy: yes, I think it must be something related to that, after all. My reference to Assange was purely speculative.

Plainly a broad, deep and long-term issue inheres here: that freedom of political speech is at the mercy of foreign / multinational tech companies which have no accountability and whose interests are probably reactionary.

lol @ Forsyth's disgruntled brackets and he is so much the apotheosis of "punchable face"

I used to follow an account that got suspended about 8 times until they finally disappeared. But they did used to post libellous and frequently beyond the pale images of a certain ex-Labour, Tory appointed peer.

calzino, Friday, 10 December 2021 11:58 (four years ago)

This is the tweet that got Aaron suspended. I've redacted the email address included in my tweet – a Novara address, ffs – that was presumably what Twitter deemed had breached its rules, so that this tweet isn't deleted again. pic.twitter.com/ryxYt6Qpwu

— Rivkah Brown (@RivkahBrown) December 10, 2021

This case is perhaps more ludicrous than sinister, though perhaps both.

the pinefox, Friday, 10 December 2021 12:19 (four years ago)

This is absolutely ridiculous - Aaron Bastani’s Twitter account has been suspended - for including an email belong to his own media company in a tweet.

Can @Twitter please sort this completely absurd situation out please https://t.co/QkAPlGyCne

Not fucking interested

9/ Even better, maybe all the pseudo-Leninist "Kieth can't win and is a Tory" bullshit will just go away for a few hours/minutes? There's no reason whatsoever that the left can't now build a united platform, leadership and demands - if we want to....

"Kieth can't win" was always incidental to "and is a Tory" and more a sneery response to his bad polling and what a horribly dishonest and feeble character he is, any cunt can win when they get the nod, Paul. "build a united platform" lol this fucking idiot really is on the spice.

calzino, Sunday, 12 December 2021 10:51 (four years ago)

a couple of weeks of bad press can cause this much of a polling rupture to the tories, imagine what it would do to Kieth who still is polling lower than Don't Know

calzino, Sunday, 12 December 2021 10:57 (four years ago)

the desperation of these feebs is pitiful, of course "you'll eat your words if Kieth wins" is wilful bad faith ignoring of the point. Blair won ffs

If this is the best the Mirror can come up with then it looks like we've reached the bottom of the barrel.

it didn't make the Mirror front cover when the BMJ published a report that accused the govt of the corporate manslaughter of 120 000 + disabled but gosh yes this an outrage!

glumdalclitch, Sunday, 12 December 2021 13:11 (four years ago)

I'm about to be made a second class citizen along with 6 million others in my own country, and I bet Starmer will whip to abstain too. All for the votes of a handful of racists who won't vote for him anyway. Luv 2 strategy 😂 Imagine voting for this

glumdalclitch, Sunday, 12 December 2021 13:32 (four years ago)

A photo of three people sitting at a desk is far more important than any of that.

When Smeato Met Moaty (Tom D.), Sunday, 12 December 2021 13:36 (four years ago)

Asked what a Labour government would do differently, Keir Starmer tells marr it would have “a culture of complying with standards in public office"

check out Mr Logic here, god help us if the government don't comply with the standards expected in public office whilst stripping citizenship from people and deporting them.

calzino, Sunday, 12 December 2021 13:58 (four years ago)

I can assure the country that a Labour government would not tolerate any of its ministers taking part in intra-office pub quizzes.

I hate to see ol boris wriggle out of this jam but it is kinda funny if he checkmates kieth, doms cumming et al by going “get in losers, I’m cancelling healthcare because it turns out we started the booster programme too late like everyone said”

coombination gazza hut & scampo bell (wins), Monday, 13 December 2021 09:53 (four years ago)

Feels like Johnson as London mayor. Announcing a project that will drive through, and if it wrecks anything on its way it wrecks.

Know this ship has long sailed but there has been no scrutiny on whether we have even tried to make the NHS more resilient to variants. The passage from high covid rates to Hospitalisations and deaths has been weakened for a while now and yet we talk of the NHS like last year when we didn't have a vaccine.

xyzzzz__, Monday, 13 December 2021 10:33 (four years ago)

And many people will cancel events, or there will be less people at them. Businesses will suffer as there is no compensation, and more people will lose work through this.

xyzzzz__, Monday, 13 December 2021 10:35 (four years ago)

kinda feel like it's more important for ppl to get cancer treatment than for me to get a pre x-mas booster

I'll take it, don't get me wrong

Daniel_Rf, Monday, 13 December 2021 10:35 (four years ago)

I wonder how many of these cancer treatment operations were already postponed. I've got an auntie with cancer who at the start of the pandemic was turned down for surgery and then they changed their mind because there was some kind of improvement/more positive diagnosis and I think she's still waiting.

calzino, Monday, 13 December 2021 10:47 (four years ago)

Paul Mason still hasn't noticed that the political Left have been systematically and brutally purged from the Labour Party.

That might be why they're not building a positive and united programme within the Labour Party.

It has been quite something to witness Conservative MPs across the full spectrum of broadcast media today vociferously rejecting the prospect of being asked for papers showing they have a right to occupy whatever space they wish. Imagine feeling like that for your entire fucking lives, gentlemen.

I don't think the right of the party is going to be happy with Sunak taking over and i'm not sure the membership can be trusted to back Truss at this point.
