Bad episode furthered nothing corny ending changes served no purpose at all

yeah I know nothing about the books and am enjoying the series thus far, it has done about the right amount of world-building and exposition as compared to actually advancing the plot. Agree that Rand is a bit of a charisma vacuum but the rest of the cast seems pretty good.

Liandrin, and i mean look ok its why she was cast and its a living, ok, has just a great hateful face and i hated her straight away more than i should and i looked up other roles and shes from les mis, where if anything her hateful face is put to even better use

it is an astonishing face. absolutely steals all its scenes

Shes good in the role too, i dont want to undermine that, but yeah

read a couple things about the series and found it exhausting. it's either
'this is not like the books' (don't care) or a representation scorecard (half the cast is people of color and half the characters in this world are evil -- there's gonna be some overlap, and also a lot of people are gonna get killed)

that said, making *both* eamon valda and padan fain black dudes seems . . . sketchy

i'm told the latter was in the crowd for logain's grand entrance, although i missed him

in the show it's not yet apparent that padan fain is evil - I doubt anyone who has not read the books would have even noticed or cared that he was in the crowd in tar valon. And the Eamon Valda character is so much more impressive and magnetic than any whitecloak that actually appeared in the books - he's probably the best character in the whole show so far.

Im not sure the performance fits at all tbh, its trying to do a lot shorthand

Rafe Lee Judkins (born January 8, 1983, in Salt Lake City, Utah) is an American showrunner and television personality best known as the showrunner of the Amazon original show The Wheel of Time, based on Robert Jordan's book series of the same name and also for appearing as a contestant on the 11th season of Survivor, which took place in Guatemala. He is now a working TV and travel writer with credits on other shows such as My Own Worst Enemy, Chuck, and Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.

Early life

Judkins was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to a large Mormon family that is said to include 60 first cousins. Rafe's childhood involved him spending time painting rocks and taking apart machines. This was probably because of his mother being an artist and father being an inventor. He moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the age of five. His time was spent towards teaching English and science to inner city middle school students. He graduated in 2001 and was selected as the member of the senior class most likely to be on Survivor.
