I had missed that Kendall is drinking 40 on the escalator ride with Greg.

40 for 40, it was on theme

omg š
― terminators of endearment (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 2 December 2021 05:54 (four years ago)
I hope we all noticed the Ready To Die theme. Could this be some kind of suicide foreshadowing??
― paolo, Thursday, 2 December 2021 08:37 (four years ago)
If any of them are going to die Ken would have to be the favourite but that just seems a bit too obvious
― paolo, Thursday, 2 December 2021 08:38 (four years ago)
I've been wondering if Logan might let slip some information about Ken's involvement in that lad's death in season one. You wouldn't put it past the old bastard
― paolo, Thursday, 2 December 2021 08:39 (four years ago)
logan would be vulnerable on that as well, coverup is worse than the crime and all
― Clay, Thursday, 2 December 2021 09:07 (four years ago)
He could deny there was any coverup, though. There's no papertrail, and whathisface head of security isn't going to say anything. Out of all the employees, he's the only one they treat well (or at least don't treat horrendously). I suppose he's the only one with a hold over them.
― trishyb, Thursday, 2 December 2021 09:50 (four years ago)
sure he could say there was no cover up of this until now unknown to anyone but him and a small group of coconspirators crime but not sure thats a really strong position to put oneself in
― lagān, Thursday, 2 December 2021 12:59 (four years ago)
it's almost like Logan is going to use that as long as he can as leverage over Ken--letting info slip out into the press means he loses that leverage
― a (waterface), Thursday, 2 December 2021 13:05 (four years ago)
Was reminded of a New Yorker piece on Hudson Yards from a few years backā'it would be a great setting for a breakdown'

:D np! one of the best videos

Conner O'Malley really walks that line between "comedy" and some kind of "ART" I'm still trying to figure out.
― dan selzer, Thursday, 2 December 2021 14:03 (four years ago)
His recent one about pulled pork in Wisconsin even strays into some of the better short-form horror of recent years imo
― imago, Thursday, 2 December 2021 14:12 (four years ago)
Hope he gets a Succession cameo obv
― imago, Thursday, 2 December 2021 14:13 (four years ago)
one of the best comedy-art guys out for sure

― (ā¢ĢŖā) (carne asada), Thursday, 2 December 2021 18:01 (four years ago)
needs a gif of Ken just pulling and pulling the blunt out like a magician's knotted handkerchiefs
― Oxnard Jeweler (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 2 December 2021 18:18 (four years ago)
Could this be some kind of suicide foreshadowing??
I don't think this show is ever going to go in for that kind of heavy-handed drama. And it's better for it, imo.
― beard papa, Thursday, 2 December 2021 19:47 (four years ago)
maybe not they were def playing with that imagery, having a breakdown looking off a high balcony at a famous suicide sculpture and so forth
― lagān, Thursday, 2 December 2021 19:53 (four years ago)
i really doubt they're going to go with a suicide but one of the last lines of the episode was ken breaking down and saying "i just want to ... (long pause implying he's going to say 'die') ... go home"
― na (NA), Thursday, 2 December 2021 19:56 (four years ago)
but yeah i think it's more about the idea/imagery than foreshadowing
i could see them doing it, maybe the show goes very dark the last season or two
― lagān, Thursday, 2 December 2021 19:58 (four years ago)
sorta like them toying with the crucifix--they're not gonna go through with it (at least I don't think.)

I liked when ken walked out after the breakdown and said to Roman āyouāre not a real personā
― calstars, Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:00 (four years ago)
We get it a day later in the UK, as I learned from this thread to my costā¦
― mike t-diva, Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:01 (four years ago)
yeah i usually can't watch until Monday or Tuesday but with two episodes left there's likely to be crazy shit with Ken, considering how the other seasons have gone
― a (waterface), Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:02 (four years ago)
I didnāt buy his sudden 180 via hearing that his kids made him a gift. His kids have had about five minutes of screen time the whole series and heās given two shits about them ā¦until now ?
― calstars, Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:03 (four years ago)
it's not really about the kids though, it's about his self-perception as a "good person"
― na (NA), Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:04 (four years ago)
I read the "go home" thing more as that he wished he could be at what his home was, with his kids and Rava, before he started using again and things started spinning out of control. I think the next arc for him is going to be trying to get clean and I look to the relationship with Noami to start fraying at the same time. Maybe he takes the payout and checks into rehab in the finale or something.
― beard papa, Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:04 (four years ago)
did we already know that one of his kids is named iverson?
discussed earlier in thread I believe
― beard papa, Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:05 (four years ago)
Also puzzling is how Greg was suddenly aligned with Ken at the end of S2 and then suddenly in S3 heās back in the office ??
― calstars, Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:06 (four years ago)
seems like shiv is going to switch sides/go rogue at some point, using the spying on kendall's kids as an excuse but more because of logan and roman keeping her on the outside
― na (NA), Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:07 (four years ago)
i have finally come around to the position that it doesn't matter who runs the company in the end. i think i'm more worried about how this all ends, i just don't want some stupid ending for these characters, want something satsifying and "real" whatever that means. i trust in the writers though man watching this is rough and cringe at the same time
― a (waterface), Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:12 (four years ago)
fair imo
the key to this season of succession is to remember that peep show was also a show about horrible people who don't learn from their mistakes and slowly get worse and worse until the things that made you empathize with them are just unrecognizable.— Gita Jackson (@xoxogossipgita) December 2, 2021
― š šš¢šØ (caek), Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:19 (four years ago)
Yeah I think the thing with Kendall's kids' present was more about him flailing about looking for something 'real' (or at least flattering to his self-image) in the gigantic edifice of bullshit that he had constructed for himself.
I won't be able to watch the next one until Thursday at the earliest, guess I'm offline until then.
― change display name (Jordan), Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:44 (four years ago)
otmeverything is so hollow and the kid gift is like.. kids! i have kids! family that i donāt hate and maybe donāt hate me! ahhh!and then just being a total asshole about his girlfriend getting him a watch even though she is there and does care, showing her heās a completely self-absorbed shit
― mh, Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:49 (four years ago)
I mean, I thought it was pretty clear that Greg was riding both sides as long he possibly could.
― a superficial sheeb of intelligence (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:49 (four years ago)
watching him opening her gift, it was like he was both dreading and extremely hoping that it would be drugs
― mh, Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:50 (four years ago)
I did particularly like this reply to Miles' tweet about Sunday's episode:
Kendall Roy "L to the OG" (Taylor's version) 58 minutes.— Brian Martin (@brianmartin848) December 2, 2021
― a superficial sheeb of intelligence (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:51 (four years ago)
I like that the (lost) kids' present had wrapping paper with rabbits on it, given that he likely killed their pet through his phone instructions an episode or two ago.
