Anna again, in exactly the same time and place as last time.

Sororah T Massacre (blueski), Thursday, 29 December 2005 11:14 (twenty years ago)

one month passes...
william b. swygart outside leeds union

should have said hello

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 3 February 2006 16:30 (twenty years ago)

I saw Stew Beardmag at a careers fair today. We were both there in a professional capacity. I got to skive off after about half an hour and he must still be there about five hours after I bumped into him.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 9 February 2006 19:53 (twenty years ago)

does tracer hand's emma count as an ilxor? i was on the 43 going up to a meeting, and saw her drinking coffee outside amici cafe on holloway road (at like 9am on a COLD morning-- brave girl!)

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 9 February 2006 20:02 (twenty years ago)

two weeks pass...
I saw Momus at the Whitney.

nabiscothingy, Wednesday, 1 March 2006 05:37 (twenty years ago)

I mean, pretty soon lots of people will have a chance to see Momus at the Whitney, which makes it a bit less "impromptu," but I hadn't expected to be there, and I'd forgotten that he was going to be there, so I was still a little surprised.

nabiscothingy, Wednesday, 1 March 2006 05:38 (twenty years ago)

I saw Nabisco at the Whitney! He was photographing Daniel Johnston, who was smiling like an elderly cherub, standing in front of his colorful drawings, wearing his grey hair in an "indie" cut.

Nabisco and I exchanged some pleasanteries, but I think we ought to exchange some more over dinner at some point, so Nabisco send me a mail at momasu at gmail.com, please!

Momus (Momus), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 09:11 (twenty years ago)

Awwwww. How was it generally, Nick? Did S+u@r+ bump into you? Tate sent him over for the opening.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 09:13 (twenty years ago)

There's another one tonight, the official one. Last night I was sort of adopted for a while by DJ Spooky, and he really works the room, so we spent time with Sonic Youth (Kim and Thurston) and other music-art crossover people. Actually, I felt like the whole thing was a bit too glitzy rentacrowdish. But Cecily Brown is yum, something clicked when I was speaking to her. I distinctly heard it go "click"!

Momus (Momus), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 09:54 (twenty years ago)

I see Ricky T so often now I don't bother Reporting Back. Some viewers might be intwerested to know that he doesn't always cross the road at the designated point, preferring to take his chances between the stationary vans and cars.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 10:21 (twenty years ago)

The thought of Nabisco and Momus being asked to leave the restaurant as the inevitable heated debate heats up is tickling me right now.

I see Ricky T so often now I don't bother Reporting Back.

Same here but with Anna in place of Rick. Gossipy viewers may be interested to know she is often a little hungover but always superbly dressed.

Sororah T Massacre (blueski), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 10:41 (twenty years ago)

I never see PJM.

RickyT (RickyT), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 12:19 (twenty years ago)

Xpost to Nick: Cecily is really, really cool (do you remember that I had to go meet her when I came to NYC) and used to go out (might still?) with one of the guys in Owada, @d@m m¢€w@n. Also her mummy is Shena Mackay and her dad was David Sylvester (I don't think she knew him until she was an adult). A pedigree chum, but a nice one (probably a nicer person than painter, actually but haven't looked at her work closely for a few years).

Wolfgang opened at PS 1 last night - prob another reason my friend is in town.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 12:49 (twenty years ago)

Gossipy viewers may be interested to know she is often a little hungover but always superbly dressed.

I think it's because I'm usually late for work when I run into you, which tends to follow a late night out. I don't have a problem, honest...

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 12:50 (twenty years ago)

Ditto with the Pinefox. He is usually buying one of my sarnies.

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 12:57 (twenty years ago)

I don't see anyone :(
Oh I saw Chewsabadoo the other day but didn't realise I'd seen him until I was halfway up the road. I'm quite slow like that. Sorry M!

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 13:12 (twenty years ago)

anna in waitrose last week.

i only go to waitrose for one thing, i dont buy anything else there, really

i no longer randomly see dadaismus. perhaps he haunts a different corridor now

codename: hilary duff (gareth), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 13:51 (twenty years ago)

I'm seeing the Pinefox more and more these days. Last time, there was a small boy trying to make friends with him.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 14:03 (twenty years ago)

often a little hungover but always superbly dressed.

which is definitely the right way round ;-)

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 14:10 (twenty years ago)

Matt, I think that deserves a thread of its own.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 14:18 (twenty years ago)

i saw a nick d lookalike in oxford circus station today. it was really distracting. i was behind him the whole time on the escalator and i kept wanting to pull his hair.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 14:20 (twenty years ago)

I saw one too, but mine was on Theobald's Road and was easily too heavy to be him but not fat enough to be Nicky Wire.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 14:21 (twenty years ago)

Walking under the Caledonian Road & Barnsbury railway bridge (IE across the street from my house), there was some guy waiting for the bus who looked just like Dave Q - and it was him! He lives here now.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 6 March 2006 16:39 (twenty years ago)

Q back in the hood. End times are truly 'pon us.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 12:08 (twenty years ago)

I thought he hated London?

Rotatey Diskers With Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 12:10 (twenty years ago)

Oh, he does. But global warming is coming slowly to Canada, which he basically described as being totally covered in ice.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 12:23 (twenty years ago)

That's the problem with about 4/5 of Canada, YMOF.

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 14:06 (twenty years ago)

Michael White looking very dapper-casual on a Saturday afternoon, hustling down to Haight Street. He's going to be away for a while.

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 16:20 (twenty years ago)

Somehow Momus and Nabisco manage to occupy the same space-time continuum (a bar called Double Happiness on Mott Street), with the only adverse effect a little light strangling.

Momus (Momus), Friday, 10 March 2006 05:25 (twenty years ago)

AWESOME

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 10 March 2006 05:34 (twenty years ago)

Ahahahaha! I have this theory that people who get vexed with Nick almost always never fight with him online once they've been out together of an evening. Let's see if this bears out in real-time.

Weirdly, Nabisco looks like Hari Kunzru in that picture. Hello you two!

suzy (suzy), Friday, 10 March 2006 07:47 (twenty years ago)

Actually, he looks more like Ben Kingsley. Sorry, Sir Ben Kingsley.

Momus (Momus), Friday, 10 March 2006 08:09 (twenty years ago)

uh oh

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Friday, 10 March 2006 08:49 (twenty years ago)

Momus, when did you turn into the Birdseye captain? This is a worrying development.

Fish is Biodegradable! (That Means It Rots) (kate), Friday, 10 March 2006 10:37 (twenty years ago)

Nabisco: "Ah! But I've got a much bigger head than you have!"
Momus: "Aye laddie, that ye have, but my richt hand is muckle bigger than yours - feast yer een oan that, laddie!"

Rotatey Diskers With Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 10 March 2006 10:41 (twenty years ago)

My finger looks tiny and impotent! Someone please photoshop it much, much larger, possibly poking Momus in the other eye.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 10 March 2006 16:32 (twenty years ago)

Nabisco, your tiny hand is frozen in a gesture of admonition

Rotatey Diskers With Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 10 March 2006 16:35 (twenty years ago)

"Caught you! I said no strangling, you little scamp!"
"Yarrr, ye have me bang to rights."

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 10 March 2006 16:56 (twenty years ago)

It hardly even looks like Nabisco's own hand! Oh the sadder side of foreshortening.

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 10 March 2006 17:47 (twenty years ago)

Barima espied me staggering off the bus on Friday evening. "I didn't know you lived here!"

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Monday, 13 March 2006 09:34 (twenty years ago)

You looked pretty shocked, man. You're only 2 bus stops away too.

BARMS, Monday, 13 March 2006 10:02 (twenty years ago)

I think I still carry this absurd notion in my diseased mind that ILx World and Real World are two separate and discrete entities which never actually meet...

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Monday, 13 March 2006 10:06 (twenty years ago)

ed, at the bloomsbury way bus stop last night around 6.30 - i was on the 38, he got on the 19. i doubt he saw me, i only caught a glimpse of him...

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 12:54 (twenty years ago)

haitch on the platform of clifton hill train station

electric sound of jim (and why not) (electricsound), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:59 (twenty years ago)

i saw michael grant on the 19 last night. i was drunk, i may have done my rubbish scottish accent at him. i had been to see arab strap though.

sorry michael :)

-- CarsmileSteve (carsmilestev...), November 18th, 2005 2:37 PM.

has michael grant been seen since?

Konal Doddz (blueski), Thursday, 30 March 2006 09:13 (twenty years ago)

no but he's back in glasgow

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 30 March 2006 09:18 (twenty years ago)

supposedly

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 30 March 2006 09:18 (twenty years ago)

I just looked up the line "I left my bag in newport pagnell" (*) and the seventh result in google was a post by Alba!

(*) There's still lots of smiths songs I've intentionally never listened to because I'm saving them for when I'm older, when new music might have become shit, and I'll need decent old stuff which I've not heard before. But this means that when a friend who's currently on a bus heading north just texted me saying "i left my bag in newport pagnell", instead of replying with "I left my wallet in el segundo", I said "oh shit, do you need me to look up their customer service number for you or anything?" haha.

JimD (JimD), Friday, 31 March 2006 10:04 (twenty years ago)

two weeks pass...
Possibly Ken C at Holborn tube on Saturday afternoon, but I was with my wife and halfway through topping up my oyster card at a machine with my credit card in it, so it seemed inappropriate to run up to someone who was potentially a complete stranger and say 'you're that bloke from the internet!'.

Teh HoBBler (the pirate king), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 12:00 (twenty years ago)

Pete B on Saturday afternoon. Mrs the Nipper and I were eating in Soho Spice on Wardour St (the salmon is excellent!) and he walked by and knocked on the window.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 13:15 (twenty years ago)
