Based on my timeline this has had more cut-through than pretty much any other political topic in months including anything specific Covid-related. Any idea why? Has someone run a well-organised campaign on it? https://t.co/RyEIbDDpZd

I have a yahoo e-mail I use for spam and so occasionally I look at the yahoo.co.uk main page - audience seems to be FBPE boomers. Anyway today's headline there is "Starmer calls for action over 'sickening' schools protests"

Daniel_Rf, Monday, 25 October 2021 10:32 (four years ago)

(it's about anti-vax protests but still)

chill Kieth, it's half-term this week

calzino, Monday, 25 October 2021 10:40 (four years ago)

Just using their beloved MP's death to deflect criticism.

This is the truth about how we voted on the environment bill. None of us voted to discharge sewage into the sea and those of who have spread lies and misinformation should hang their heads in shame. Don’t ask why MPs get death threats if you have been part of this today #toxic https://t.co/QhZ4vjfVUF

I care about stopping waste because I respect taxpayers and I respect our public services.

That's why Labour would create an independent Office for Value for Money, to crack down on the waste that has been so rampant under this Tory government. pic.twitter.com/s1iMrYrFqZ

a psychopath without any psychopathic charisma + with a voice that oddly sounds like it is turning into Kieth's does a video scripted by the Taxpayers' Alliance. Way to go Labour, your killing it!

An independent Office For On The Money cannot be far off.

Equally, a call for Trump to be booted off platforms doesn’t make a sauce for the goose/gander claim about Novara. With Trump there were extensive violent incitements, often racist ones, Novara doesn’t do that. The free speech abstraction doesn’t clarify how bad the conflation is

— Tom Gann (@Tom_Gann) October 26, 2021

I've had a fair few co-dydramols today and thought I was tripping when I saw Laurence Fox + chums defending Novara and some high-minded concept of free speech that involves defending dangerous bigots lest you lose your own platform. That response from Ash Sakar is very bad and something of an overreaction perhaps.

The Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, has announced a new Beatles museum for Liverpool in his Budget.

— BBC North West (@BBCNWT) October 27, 2021

xyzzzz__, Wednesday, 27 October 2021 15:25 (four years ago)

in the docks! apparently (1) the beatles are somehow an essential part of Liverpool's maritime heritage (2) there isn't enough beatles shit in Liverpool already (3) 2 million is enough to build a museum and (4) none of the money is going to Speke, where two of the beatles grew up and which desperately needs any investment it can get.

Language is powerful but ... feel a bit sad that Angela Rayner has apologised for her "scum" comments. Partly because I believe she was right but mostly because the actions/inactions of this current government and the contempt they have for most people is far worse than anything Rayner will ever say or do.

djh, Thursday, 28 October 2021 21:04 (four years ago)

it's a cowardly move and will only make the tories portray themselves as a persecuted minority more than they already did

Daniel_Rf, Friday, 29 October 2021 10:11 (four years ago)

yep, she's a coward and being played like a sucker. if she had referred to Corbyn as an "IRA twat" publicly there wouldn't have been any pressure to apologise to him and armed forces were using a pic of him at the shooting range. Calling Tories scum isn't an incitement for violent action against them, not that I'd discourage it.

calzino, Friday, 29 October 2021 10:58 (four years ago)

Greens holding solid at 10, ahead of Lib Dems.

Tories 6 points if Lab ahead in latest polling.

Call me cynical but main commitments that will come from #COP26 key leaders will be climate investments in false, capitalist greenwashing solutions (carbon markets, net zero); and ecofascist climate security strategies that further border securitization & defense infrastructure.

she's that close to physical death that the incoming collapse of human civilisation is no biggie to her, which is actually a more defendable position than her son trying model himself as eco-prophet whilst flogging biscuits that cost twenty quid in Fortnum & Mason or that hypocritical chimpanzee shagger!

calzino, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 22:12 (four years ago)

From a twitter acc bcz it hasn't been reported on.

Amazing how Owen Paterson’s corruption, Rose Paterson’s death, Robert Jenrick’s Housing scandal and Dido Harding’s government contracts are all explicitly linked to the Jockey Club and not a single journalist can touch it with a barge pole.
