We don’t eat at arepas cafe much anymore because arepas grill is less crowded and has parking but that’s solid. Astoria seafood down the st is supposed to be amazing.

Thanks! Might try that. What do you think of the Thai restaurant I keep passing, Maple Thai Eatery?
― Double Chocula (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 24 October 2021 00:01 (four years ago)
Elmhurst or Woodside Thai or die. If you’re driving go over there.
― dan selzer, Sunday, 24 October 2021 00:08 (four years ago)
Like Felix, I kept on walking, so I tried Ma’Ple after all. It’s fine and quite spicy, if a bit generic.

Astoria Seafood is fuckin' great. there was a greek place around there i used to love but that was fifteen years ago and it's likely gone now.

The method at Astoria Seafood sounds mad! How do you pick something out and then tell them how to cook it?? What have you ordered there? Tell me all.
― Ima Gardener (in orbit), Sunday, 24 October 2021 15:19 (four years ago)
you can just say "as the chef likes" and take your chances

The amount of chaos and uncertainty is very concerning. I feel anxious just thinking about it. What are the sides like?
― Ima Gardener (in orbit), Sunday, 24 October 2021 15:21 (four years ago)
Oh okay it's Greek, sorry, I just needed to read up on it.
― Ima Gardener (in orbit), Sunday, 24 October 2021 15:22 (four years ago)
I had a whole crazy thing where I put money in the tip jar but then the "waiter" chased me down afterwards anyway, speaking of chaos. The owner than asked me what was going on and seemed to be annoyed at the guy.Came to post that I like this place, even though I don't buy too many physical books anymore. Come to think if it, I remember the night of the event pictured, somehow I ended up the afterparty if not the event itself.https://www.centroculturalbarcodepapel.org/noel-jardines/

walked by Casa Del Chef as it was opening and mentioned it on chow.com when that was something I'd still look at. I've still never been but everybody loves it. Now in danger of closing.

Orsolya Gaal murderer in custody. She lived in my old neighborhood and down the block from our friends - I didn't know her personally but had seen her post in neighborhood fb groups and remembered her name when I saw the news. RIP and peace to the family.

My old neighborhood is having a bad run lately. What a horrible story.

yeah, I used to live btw 68th ave and 67th drive, and 108th st ran behind my building (perpendicular to 68th ave/67th dr), followed by 110th and 112th. For some ways there was a pattern of ave/rd/drive (67th ave, 67th rd, 67th dr, 68th ave etc), but only until you got to the LIE in one direction or union turnpike in the other, then it completely changed. Oh and of course 108th was parallel to yellowstone, but then the next parallel st was 102nd, followed by 99th, followed by 98th, and these were all diagonal to queens blvd and some curved while others were straight so it was all kinds of fucked up.

NIce! Let me see how many people I recognize in that picture. Freddy, Faco, VIctor, maybe Ivana, turned around. The other lady might be Elvira. Think Sebastian Cruz is playing there tonight as part of someone else's project.
