Man! So close! I clicked the 3 other pictures in Djibouti city because I was looking for the harbour/port but didn't click the airport one.

Good work, and many assists on this one I think! I'm glad I didn't have to do second photo as it was very close by that point. I love how when you list out all the clues the answer is right there (felt the same about Novosibirsk too, I'd kind of already described it without realising)

No one mentioned the YouTube videos on the monitor screen, I was pretty curious on those

There seems to be a general consensus amongst visitors to Djibouti International Airport that it is the dirtiest international airport in the world. Or at least that the toilets are the dirtiest toilets in an international airport in the world.

An older city in the US.

Yeah, that fire escape (?) at the front of the building made me think US as well - some kind of French quarter or euro district type deal?
This building we're in has annoyingly little on the windows (post offices, banks, train stations would have all kinds of stuff on there I would expect)

I wonder if playing with the contrast would bring out the text on the yellow vertical sign or the buildings across the plaza.

Good one, thought these last two might go a little quicker after some tough ones. What was your route to it?

Zoomed in on the map and made out the street name "Race St". Tried a few cities with a Race Street. Got to Cincinnati and got lucky by clicking near Findlay Market right away, noticed the red crossbeam construction and then it was just a matter of clicking nearby until I found the spot.

I need a screen with more pixels, I can't even see Race St now you told me it's there

Yeah I even tried to ENHANCE and was like "Mare St? Mace St? Dace St?"

Perhaps it helped that I downloaded the full image and looked at it in a photo editor rather than in the browser.

So yes, an older US city that doesn't have much going for it!

A shitty resort.

Building top left doesn't look American to me so I think Europe, but obviously not Mediterranean. Woman with daughter looks vaguely East European or at least Middle European. Maybe somewhere on a lake? Or the Black Sea again, like Bulgaria or Romania?

blue and red water slides look pretty big, maybe a dedicated water park kind of thing?

Definitely a permanent park (all the umbrellas, and what looks like a concrete edge in the water area closest to the photographer). In fact, it doesn't look connected to a river or body of water at all because every pool edge I can see is concrete and I see vegetation beyond it.

No real clue where to start looking to be honest - hills, big white buildings in the distance, one of them with something on top maybe (observatory? dome?), a red/white antenna or chimney?
Building on the left looks vaguely Austrian/Swiss/Alpine/Southern Germany? Lady looks kinda Eastern European maybe? But this could just as easily be in South America.

And there are a lot more blue spiral water slides in the world than I thought :-)

is that a coke can on the towel in the foreground? Can't make out letters or logo but could be a clue, don't know?

I'm also thinking that fence is impossibly complicated & could have been much simpler to make but anyway

i'm kind of fascinated by the fence! never seen one quite like it with that mix of rigid palings and weldmesh.

the half hipped roof on the far left might be traceable architecture but i wouldnt know where to start.
