i loved george’s plane so much! and giuseppe’s reversi! and jurgen’s windmill! lots of great toys!

the playable snooker table probably deserved a few more seconds' gushing - that was adorable and v impressive. also the vanity with all the little Operation style bits. i guess the things moving around in the air are in some sense more ambitious, tho.

I thought the plane was a bit of a cheat, unless my assumption that the motor was not constructed from baked goods was incorrect.

Only a little thing, but I'm enjoying Chiggs and George's non-competitive support for each other, the bro-ing and whatnot. It's still genuinely rare to see two blokes being kind and supportive to each other on TV (at least in shows without Jason Sudeikis in them).

Can't believe Chrystelle is only 26! She's probably one of those people who will continue to look they're in their forties until they hit triple figures

Freya is a horse girl! I wonder how she manages to get through the technicals, since they'll invariably require non-vegan ingredients. Does she avoid tasting as she goes?

I have to think that this was a Showstopper where taste and flavor generally took a back seat to design -- eating 11 10 variations on gingerbread would probably dull my palate (in which case I think Amanda's sugar cookies was probably what saved her).

Giuseppe's hair is a marvel, btw.

Freya is from Scarborough, which explains her odd voice.

Is Jurgen peaking too early? I think Guiseppe is my early favourite, but would happily see any of them win. Had no idea Chrystelle was only 26. Some of the technical work is astonishing.

Only really blank spot for me so far is the Scouser (so blank that I can't actually remember their name!), who seems to have survived through ongoing mediocrity.

Something that Americans may not realize is that Freya is a hugely popular girls name in England/Wales these days. It entered the top 100 around the time Bake-Off Freya was born and is now #10. (It's rising fast in the U.S., too, but still only #179 at the moment.)

Not a fan of the name tbh.

some really great show stoppers though! amandas octopus looked awesome, and freya’s crab!! also george’s koala looked v cute & cuddly (just like george lol…i think i have a crush)

George is such a handsome chap *and* he makes good tzatziki. My other take away from this week, is that I very much want Noel's jumper.

Felt the 'go home' was justified but sad to see them go.

I am obsessed with Lizzie as a person but fairly indifferent to her baking.

Maggie seemed like she’d be strong but she’s surprisingly mediocre and obsessed with tradition. My first thought of her was “is this the type of person British ppl insult by calling them a Tory?”

Jürgen is ridiculous and adorable, him and Giuseppe are both very impressive

I'd say yes to Maggie being a Tory but she was a midwife so there is hope.

sidebar: Baking Impossible on Netflix is hosted by redheaded Andrew from series 7 (the windmill guy) —- it’s weird & a bit awkward but i kinda love it. cross between Bake Off, that glass blowing show, and mythbusters. If you want to see a 2ft powered boat made of edible material float & sail on water, this is your show (i do, and it is)
