yeah hard to say "ship is righted" when your opponent fires off 18 shots (13 on target) at you and just bottle the finishing
― Gardyloominati (Neanderthal), Sunday, 26 September 2021 14:54 (two years ago) link
victory! of sorts. i'll take it.
― Gardyloominati (Neanderthal), Sunday, 26 September 2021 14:57 (two years ago) link
hopefully a bit of confidence for players and manager, a boost for Raul, another week to work on the issues. reading about the game and listening to the last 20 minutes is worrying when we were playing so well a few weeks back
― look on my guacs, ye mighty, and dis pear (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 September 2021 14:57 (two years ago) link
Yeah Raul scoring I assume is the main factor, hopefully the first of many
― One-Eyed and Incredibly Mearns (Jonathan Hellion Mumble), Sunday, 26 September 2021 15:03 (two years ago) link
ESR makes old school arsenal runs, he finds that place in the 6 yard box, so needed in this team
― Swanswans, Sunday, 26 September 2021 15:44 (two years ago) link
Spurs’ midfield looks adrift. No strategy going forward, no ability to stop Arsenal when they attack.
― Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 26 September 2021 15:49 (two years ago) link
The Dutch league's always been high scoring. Goals are no guarantee of entertainment... or quality.
― Are You Still in Love With Me, Klas-Göran? (Tom D.), Sunday, September 26, 2021 7:50 AM (fifty-eight minutes ago) bookmarkflaglink
that's true. maybe if you add higher possession in the last third, that may make it more entertaining
― Punster McPunisher, Sunday, 26 September 2021 15:53 (two years ago) link
I've got my window open, I'm guessing Arsenal are 2-0 up?
― Are You Still in Love With Me, Klas-Göran? (Tom D.), Sunday, 26 September 2021 15:58 (two years ago) link
Yep.
― Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 26 September 2021 15:59 (two years ago) link
Indeed.
― Ned Raggett, Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:00 (two years ago) link
Arsenal crowd isn't usually that loud tbh.
― Are You Still in Love With Me, Klas-Göran? (Tom D.), Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:01 (two years ago) link
lovely interplay between aubamayang and ESR, Smith Rowe adds a directness with his unselfish, clever movement
― Swanswans, Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:01 (two years ago) link
3-0?
― Are You Still in Love With Me, Klas-Göran? (Tom D.), Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:04 (two years ago) link
Yes, shocking performance.
― Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:04 (two years ago) link
Dearie me.
Could end up six or seven.
― Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:05 (two years ago) link
that was a great goal by saka
― Punster McPunisher, Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:05 (two years ago) link
Yeah, good goal.
They might as well be playing the under 18s.
― Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:06 (two years ago) link
This is getting ridiculous
― Ned Raggett, Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:07 (two years ago) link
lol, kane crucial in the build up play there, drops like a sack of spuds for the initial error and then manages a sliding tackle that somehow avoids the ball completely, allowing saka clean through..it was a good looking tackle, zero contact with anything useful, but it looked good, thanks 'arry
― Swanswans, Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:09 (two years ago) link
all show and no go, lol. sorry.
― Punster McPunisher, Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:10 (two years ago) link
The amount of space Arsenal have on the wings is unbelievable. It’s like Spurs are playing without fullbacks.
― Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:14 (two years ago) link
Nuno now 19/10 favourite to be the first manager sacked.
― Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:18 (two years ago) link
Jose also 2-0 down after twenty minutes in a derby at the moment tbf.
― Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:22 (two years ago) link
love that arteta has accommodated ESR and Saka, in a workable team, finally...for ones so young, they have literally years of experience playing together, coming through the academy at arsenal, that understanding is priceless for a coherent attack, at this level, we are decisive and threatening
― Swanswans, Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:23 (two years ago) link
glad to see Smith Rowe has finally scored in the PL
― calzino, Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:38 (two years ago) link
Four?

no he scored the first goal
― calzino, Sunday, 26 September 2021 16:42 (two years ago) link
No, I can hear the crowd from my flat and that sounded like another goal.

Stonewall pen
Xhaka off
World-class save ramsdale
We were robbed of this one tbh
― fix up luke shawp (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 September 2021 17:24 (two years ago) link
I missed the moments Tottenham were robbed of this, genuinely.and a bit confused...you had a few chances but arsenal ran the majority of this game, amazing save from ramsdale, arsenal transfers fitting in nicely, doing that thing you assume should happen every time i.e. strengthening the team in key areas
― Swanswans, Sunday, 26 September 2021 17:29 (two years ago) link
No no we were robbed and are actually an excellent and admirable group of players and not cunts
― fix up luke shawp (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 September 2021 17:34 (two years ago) link
Nuno hasn't figured this team out and I for one, am a happy man today, thanks for the 1st half no show, totts, we needed this bad, you have no idea.
― Swanswans, Sunday, 26 September 2021 17:41 (two years ago) link
Nuno can stay its senior players and chairman need gone
― fix up luke shawp (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 September 2021 17:49 (two years ago) link
nuno blaming the players is kind of hilarious. levy is destroying kane's career
― Punster McPunisher, Sunday, 26 September 2021 18:16 (two years ago) link
Have spurs won a game since Nuno got August's manager of the month?

― Gardyloominati (Neanderthal), Sunday, 26 September 2021 23:58 (two years ago) link
lol
i mean levy didn't want to negotiate with man city to move kane
it seems to me that spurs focus too much on their striker at the cost of the rest of their players, but spurs' style doesn't jibe with me, so whatevz
― Punster McPunisher, Monday, 27 September 2021 01:36 (two years ago) link
Would agree with the second part
No onus on us to negotiate anything with anyone for a player under contract though
― fix up luke shawp (darraghmac), Monday, 27 September 2021 04:04 (two years ago) link
No onus, but...I thought the received wisdom, from a squad point of view is that if a player wants to go, then there's no point in keeping them at the club...I recognise moving kane on might have been a hard sell to the fans, at the start of the season but.....it was a lot of money to rebuild with
― Swanswans, Monday, 27 September 2021 14:43 (two years ago) link
Think there's an identity crisis at play abt us being a final destination club for top talent which relative to how levy carries on in every other facet is delusional unless it's performative to appease fans so id agree there
Our squad is gummed up with youths done good who have stopped doing it for us
Didnt tbh think kane had this in him mind you and citys offer was an insult, so....both sides, a bit
― fix up luke shawp (darraghmac), Monday, 27 September 2021 14:48 (two years ago) link
as an arsenal supporter, I was worried we had become too relient on children of Wenger that have played at the club for years, but hit ceilings in their development. A few good transfers have really changed that picture again. This league needs you now to have top players across the whole team. Good, sometimes very good players just don't cut it anymore without some world class in there..at least in the fight at the top positions in the table.
― Swanswans, Monday, 27 September 2021 15:03 (two years ago) link
dele Ali is one i think needed to have gone somewhere else by now, definition of unmet potential, way more talented than he's been showing, its a shame
― Swanswans, Monday, 27 September 2021 15:05 (two years ago) link
Three years since he delivered in a run, or at all
The free striker role, running into gaps and space to finish, was a great gig for him
Anything requiring keeping the ball, playing smart and (at this stage) work is showing him up as a quite limited player
Most english players are done developing as professionals once they perform once in a league game, i dont envy coaches working with these lads
Reports of a training ground mutiny this morning
How the fuck could they tell tbh

I liked Nuno's efforts at Wolves a lot but the three Spurs performances I've seen really make me feel like it's really bad fit.
