the doc on Melvin that his son made is the most narcissistic movie I have ever seen. the guy's big contribution to culture was releasing a blaxploitation movie a few months before gordon parks made the first GOOD blaxploitation movie.

Just saw Elvis Costello as the first two words in a post on the obituary thread that’s all

Always thought it was weird that Costello has acted as himself in films and television so many times. And not just quick appearances, like as a character in the story.

His IMDB page is missing Treme.

I think there was a film where he tried to act as someone else once and was so bad he was never asked again.

He's got a bunch of credits as other characters, half of it is voice acting for animation

He does get punched by Keith Allen in a Comic Strip Presents.

Bullshitters: yeah, Professionals spoof, memorable for Richardson and Allen charging around London in leather coats, underpants and boots. Coltrane in Gordon Jackson role. Costello is some sort of talent scout who tries to sign one of them up after karaoke in a pub.

Anyway, Elvis Costello is NOT dead, as far as we know.

I don't know how many Apollo Sound albums there were, but I've heard the first ten and there's not a bad one in the bunch. I think I heard #6 first, so anyone who's interested could try that as a starting point.

Thought Spandau prison was closed after Rudolf Hess died. Seems inhumane to put a man there just for playing sax.
