My girlfriend and I wore Dead Milkmen shirts for twin day during sprit week back in high school. But while hers read "Soul Rotation" on the back (from their previous album and tour), mine read "Dick Is Coming" (in honor of their upcoming album Not Richard, But Dick). I was no more than 5 steps into the school when the vice principal became aware. Fortunately, another part of our twin day costume was flannels tied around our waists, so we just moved them up to normal shirt position so I could cover up the offense.

lucky you had those flannels. when I was in 6th grade I went with a friend to see Janet Jackson on the janet. tour. My friend wore a t-shirt to school the next day that featured some variation of the album's cover art, and the vice principal made him wear a lab coat the whole day because that was all he had to cover (this was in June).

Two of my best friends, brothers, saw the Bell Biv and Devoe concert and came to school the next day in matching "Do Me" t-shirts. No repercussions, other than deep cred.

Another best friend of mine had an array of Amphetamine Reptile shirts that I have no doubt would have offended anyone that read them closely.

I don't even own a potentially offensive t-shirt.

I definitely got called into the principal in 5th grade for my Dead Kennedy's shirt, which just had the DK logo and the name on it. They were unhappy, but nothing ever happened and I wore it without problems until the end of the year.

I definitely own several offensive t-shirts lol.

i can't believe how long kids were allowed to wear Big Johnson shirts in my middle school. they didn't get banned until the end of 8th grade year, and kids ahd been wearing them throughout my 3 years there.

those were *definitely* banned at my elementary and middle school.

I can't remember if Big Johnson shirts were ever banned at my school, but no one seemed to bat an eye at Coed Naked shirts.

i think my teachers were so Puritanical they legitimately didn't know what it meant.

I don't see how there is ANY connection to be drawn between AOC's support for increasing taxes on the very wealthy and her wearing a gown designed by a person whose business is behind in its tax payments - especially 18 months into this pandemic, when businesses of all kinds have had their cash flow strangled.
