The new thread was started to post things that one doesn’t mix up but might mix up in a future perhaps stressful moment because they are next to one another but currently still separate in the mind. This was to prevent *joke* posting in this thread that might later actually come true. I guess something posted in that thread could graduate to this thread. There are some things or people I don’t really don’t know the difference between, which therefore belong on this thread, such as the classic

(there’s also a Bill Putnam, but I know he is i different)
Then there are some that I currently do know the difference between, but due to some internal bit rot ( perhaps silby can explain) I might not in the future, so they belong on the other thread, such as

Maybe others are already using this thread for both purposes but I got spooked when I saw some things I posted here as a joke and that I couldn’t actually tell the difference between anymore so I started the other one for safety’s sake

I looked at the Bacon on this week’s University Challenge and said “Freud” at my TV. Can’t explain it, it happens all the time.

I think they were acquaintances in the 40's/50's bohemian set in London

That’s right - they painted pictures of each other too.

I can't remember what the Bacon one looked like. but I recall the Freud one as very stylised and quite unlike intense painterly flesh that became his signature style.
