Guess the City

I spent a lot of time in Charleroi, Namur, and surrounding cities, but didn't ever find that tram stop. I guess it didn't show up when I enabled transit overlay in Google Maps, since its decommissioned.

looks like my very limited experiences of Malaysia over 20 years ago, so I'm going to say... Penang

the mural and surface parking vibe makes that looks a lot like broadway in chinatown in los angeles ...

but the air conditioners are wrong for north america, and so is the dinky little truck and the licence plates, and i can't find the spot in LA on streetview. so yeah i think this is asia.

those A/C units look like Singapore but rest of picture looks too downscale.

I was thinking LA's Chinatown too, maybe Bernard St (that leads to the northbound 110 fwy), but the license plate on the silver car looks like the wide, skinny ones that they do in Europe. I'm wondering if it's a European Chinatown.

Looks like something you might see in a Southeast Asian country. I think Penang was a good guess. Reminds me of city street scenes I've seen in Indonesia.

My first thought was Malaysia or Indonesia but I did wonder about it being a Chinatown outside of Asia but I got more of an air of South America rather than Europe if so

yeah, it has something on the roof that looks like a blue light and the colours, albeit through the fence, just reminded me of those yellow and blue police cars (which are a british thing going by google image search, although nothing else there particularly says british to me, apart from the overall dreariness)

Still looks kinda like Indonesia to me, except for the absence of people and traffic.

Hard to tell, but the writing on the white building looks like it might be Arabic. And yet the grey skies, puddles of water and green grass of the second picture hardly screams Middle East. And the writing in the first pic looks like it's Chinese. Colour me confused.

The white pointed arches look pretty distinctive - Islamic influence?

it's one of the 800 gigantic cities in indonesia i think, a lot of muslim / arabic crossover in that part of the world.

And plenty of Chinatowns in Indonesia too I'm guessing

Isn't Indonesia largely Muslim? They would likely have buildings with Arabic writing.

it could be brunei for instance. it's definitely somewhere wet.

The white building looks like it could be a mosque, and the first picture posted could be a Buddhist temple. Both would be common in Indonesian or Malaysian cities.

Is that one of those Japanese mini Kei trucks? So we have Chinese lampions, Arabic type windows, palm trees, and now a harbour that looks like it recently flooded - it's going to be some island in the middle of everything, isn't it? Like... Okinawa?

I am surprised at how tricky this one has turned out to be, thought picture #4 would be it. Tempted to give a clue at this stage, or at least list a few countries it isn't.
