just saw that the Offspring, which I did not know was still a going concern, just fired their drummer for refusing to be vaccinated.

I just posted my first ever comment on YouTube to someone with a fair few subscribers who has been veering way off their usual topics into "wake up, look around" covspiracy stuff and immediately got a lengthy reply from someone explainng ("with respect") that diseases actually aren't transmissible.

Which hopefully is too whacked out for the youtuber in question, because they don't seem to be getting much pushback (or deleting comments?) and my concern is the viewership they are now cultivating.

A ton of Chicago venues, bars, restaurants, etc., are all taking the proof-of-vax step today. Personally, I haven't had to show it once since getting the second shot, so it's a big/wise change.

I threw mine in a pile of junk mail back in April when I got the shot, before realizing that maybe I should keep it in a safe place.

Though I've heard anecdotally that you can buy blank ones on eBay or somewhere... it's not like there's a hologram or something on there

When I was volunteering at the clinic, I told everyone to immediately take a picture of the card after. There were even people that had lost theirs already, and this was back in March.

Lost mine almost immediately but I guess CVS would have me in their records for a replacement?

If they don't have any records that increases the chance I can clandestinely swoop in for shot three

Washington and several other states (Maryland, Virginia, Mississippi, some others) are using myIR to provide electronic access to official vaccination records.

my records are electronic. when I go onto my United Healthcare website, they have a list of my shots (the dates are all wrong though)

I can access mine through KP too, but it's a pain in the ass to find them in the app and not bring up a bunch of other info.

Places like Staples can make credit card-sized laminated versions of those vax cards, I might plop for one of those.

They've recommended against laminating cards, iirc, because they might need booster information added in the future.

Yeah, not saying you ditch the oversized paper card, just downsize and laminate to fit in your wallet. Paper card gets updated with booster info, then it's back to Staples.

I have scans of everyone's here, and I've already emailed them to various places for various reasons.

Gotta say I'm kinda surprised to see the vehemence in Twitter replies to these venues, bars and restaurants around here that have announced they are requiring vaccines. I'd say a little more than half is positive replies, happy to see the announcement, but the other replies? Holy shit, even the pro-mask, pro-vaccine contingent, liberal presenting crowd is suddenly screaming "TYRANNY", "MY FREEDOM". Holy fuck so many broken brains.

How many of these people are legitimate, though, and how many are telephone tough guys. Assuming the 'MAH FREEDOMS!!!' crowd wouldn't be contributing heavily to these venues' bottom line under other circumstances.

At any rate, fuck 'em. Seeing a show isn't a god-given right, you fuckin' mush-brained human prolapses.

fwiw I have been masking again indoors, however my guess is that anything other than a properly fitted N95 is going to make little difference with the contagiousness of Delta and the increasing awareness of transmission by small aerosols that build up in indoor air. Vaccinate and accept there's a pretty good chance you'll still get a mild case of COVID sooner or later imo. It's here to stay.
