I've been on a street in Copenhagen that looked just like that

Guayaquil (eephus!), Tuesday, 27 July 2021 20:59 (four years ago)

the drain pipes all end on the pavement bit there's no street gutters = not much rain here?

StanM, Tuesday, 27 July 2021 21:11 (four years ago)

but little rain + quite British feeling terraced housing (van on the left side of the street?) = ?

StanM, Tuesday, 27 July 2021 21:15 (four years ago)

if the van's sun flap is on the driver's side, then the steering wheel is on the right side = UK

StanM, Tuesday, 27 July 2021 21:18 (four years ago)

satellite dish looks to be pointing at a very shallow angle. does that imply more Northern? i'd've said cornwall otherwise, based on general feel.

koogs, Tuesday, 27 July 2021 21:32 (four years ago)

Tartu, Estonia

treeship., Tuesday, 27 July 2021 21:42 (four years ago)

No real evidence. I just feel that this is what I am looking at.

Otherwise, Aarhus, Denmark

treeship., Tuesday, 27 July 2021 21:42 (four years ago)

Someday I will go to Aarhus

Guayaquil (eephus!), Tuesday, 27 July 2021 21:45 (four years ago)

It’s a great city. I loved my brief time there.

treeship., Tuesday, 27 July 2021 21:47 (four years ago)

is there a treasure buried under this X?

StanM, Tuesday, 27 July 2021 21:52 (four years ago)

I've heard Aarhus is a very, very nice hus.

nickn, Tuesday, 27 July 2021 21:53 (four years ago)

TEC on that red box (lightbulb on top?) should be a clue. Some kind of alarm system?

nickn, Tuesday, 27 July 2021 21:55 (four years ago)

Edinburgh, Scotland?

nickn, Tuesday, 27 July 2021 21:59 (four years ago)

Trying to make out the TO LET agent but it's broken my eyes

kinder, Tuesday, 27 July 2021 22:01 (four years ago)

I can't remember which guess the city it was but one time I ended up looking around pretty much every city in the North of England and i
In Sunderland there were a hell of a lot of these single story terraces

so... Sunderland?

ignore the blue line (or something), Tuesday, 27 July 2021 22:45 (four years ago)

3 Noble St
https://maps.app.goo.gl/6SMRyY1knG6FSCw76

It is Sunderland! Managed a lucky drop on a road with a bend in it and two left hand adjoining roads

ignore the blue line (or something), Tuesday, 27 July 2021 22:54 (four years ago)

wow!

StanM, Tuesday, 27 July 2021 23:02 (four years ago)

well done!

kinder, Wednesday, 28 July 2021 08:33 (four years ago)

Interesting detour via Denmark first, but good work in getting to Sunderland in the end. They do have a bunch of these single story terraces that don't seem to occur elsewhere like that

space

cherry blossom, Wednesday, 28 July 2021 19:53 (four years ago)

sure looks like the US of A, and a city big enough to have a bus system

Guayaquil (eephus!), Wednesday, 28 July 2021 19:57 (four years ago)

feels very southwestern USA to me too

StanM, Wednesday, 28 July 2021 19:58 (four years ago)

The look of the building and the fact that the lot has a number (under YES - ATTENDANT ON DUTY) suggests that the parking lot belongs to a big institution -- my first guess would be state university campus? The lower-slung brick buildings in the background work with that too.

Guayaquil (eephus!), Wednesday, 28 July 2021 20:00 (four years ago)

Red white and blue piping on the windows of the shuttered building (bar?) match U of Arizona colors, is this Tucson?

Guayaquil (eephus!), Wednesday, 28 July 2021 20:02 (four years ago)

oh - I was drawn to Austin/Houston but not based on anything in particular

StanM, Wednesday, 28 July 2021 20:10 (four years ago)

Actually looks more like Texas than Arizona to me but at UT there would for sure be some burnt orange in frame. Bike rack in front of the parking lot also very consistent with university campus but maybe I'm letting myself get functionally fixed on that.

Guayaquil (eephus!), Wednesday, 28 July 2021 20:12 (four years ago)

hospital? government building?

StanM, Wednesday, 28 July 2021 20:13 (four years ago)

Sorry this isn't helpful at all, but I'm not seeing much to indicate any region in particular (except for the lack of sunshields in the cars, which would indicate somewhere less sunny than AZ to me). This also looks to me like any urban parking lot not a university one, which would possibly have a nicer, branded attendant hut?

rob, Wednesday, 28 July 2021 20:21 (four years ago)

idk though I've been pretty wrong on this thread lately

rob, Wednesday, 28 July 2021 20:21 (four years ago)

Reno seems like a place that could have a large tower next to an old single-story neighborhood.

nickn, Wednesday, 28 July 2021 20:24 (four years ago)

appreciate cherry blossom going the extra mile by first covering the sign? text? on that wall with a blanket before taking the picture they wanted to post. such dedication to the thread concept!

tean mean poleand cheaseang theas means hamseak feasts (breastcrawl), Wednesday, 28 July 2021 20:36 (four years ago)

I'm not getting any very distinct regional vibe either. It does look vaguely like some sort of government office building to me.

o. nate, Wednesday, 28 July 2021 20:36 (four years ago)

Key would be figuring out building and which cities have buses with the colors of the one in the background. Also: must be in a state that requires front license plates.

circles, Thursday, 29 July 2021 02:23 (four years ago)

Huh. The Brutalist concrete building is an apartment tower for senior citizens, it turns out.

Guayaquil (eephus!), Thursday, 29 July 2021 03:09 (four years ago)

ah yes, that famous southwestern city Cleveland. I was wrong.

StanM, Thursday, 29 July 2021 04:01 (four years ago)

the fortunes of the Barber Shop / Beauty Salon / Deli is interesting.

koogs, Thursday, 29 July 2021 10:38 (four years ago)

Checks out.

Is it my imagination or are those Chinese characters on the back of those Coca Cola signs?

o. nate, Thursday, 29 July 2021 18:42 (four years ago)

According to Google, the flag with blue, white, and yellow stripes top to bottom is the flag of Hazaristan, a region of Afghanistan, and according to DeviantArt it is the flag of the mascfluidflux gender.

That feels a lot more remote or isolated than the stadium would suggest - I'm trying to guess the sport from the chalk lines in the grass too - not something I can immediately place
