...are somewhat tricky to keep straight, but I really came here to say it has recently come to my attention that in the professional realm, Carmine Appice pronounces his surname a-PIECE, whereas his younger brother Vinny Appice pronounces it APP-a-cee.

I always pronounced it a-PEE-chay, maybe they could compromise on my version? Beck Bogert Appice must have endured some interesting pronounciations in their short-lived time.

I guess I always thought Tcheky Karyo and Elias Koteas were the same actor, for no other reason than they both have Ks in their names

The new thread was started to post things that one doesn’t mix up but might mix up in a future perhaps stressful moment because they are next to one another but currently still separate in the mind. This was to prevent *joke* posting in this thread that might later actually come true. I guess something posted in that thread could graduate to this thread. Please feel free to ignore it if it irks you.

There are some things or people I don’t really don’t know the difference between, which therefore belong on this thread, such as the classic
Bill Pullman and Bill Paxton
(there’s also a Bill Putnam, but I know he is i different)
Then there are some that I currently do know the difference between, but due to some internal bit rot ( perhaps silby can explain) I might not in the future, so they belong on the other thread, such as
Janet Maslin and Janet Malcolm

Maybe others are already using this thread for both purposes but I got spooked when I saw some things I posted here as a joke and that I couldn’t actually tell the difference between anymore so I started the other one for safety’s sake
