Not too many mental gymnastics to get from climate change is bad to white people are bad— up until China's more recent rise, much of what has put us in the position we're in has been the result of extraction industries, industrial agriculture, and the accompanying racist hubris of Western colonial powers. Taken seriously, efforts to combat climate change are also efforts to combat the foundations upon which much of Western capitalism depends, and that means combatting white supremacy.

The cartoon is still stupid, though.

i camped by a river all weekend in rural illinois, after camping on a river the previous weekend in covid-ville, missouri, near the ozarks. i overheard many dumb things on these rivers, many violent arguments between friends and family, and a shit-ton of "woke" jokes that always seemed to come up whenever our group floated by their party
