It is extraordinary btw how no-one seems sure how to pronounce "Leadbeater". I keep seeing the same people say it different ways in the space of the same clip.

I'm not quite sure if this is imbecilic or accurate.

Culturally I am stuck in the 1990s, so I feel nostalgic that the clothes and political culture is back

It's strange when you talk to someone who considers Galloway a good person, particularly when they are Asian and you consider his past approval of a neo-fascist like Bannon. Also that he is a shameless grifter and an opportunist. But it is all Kieth's fault and hate him or hate him - he's become an outlet for dissatisfaction with Labour and that is perfectly legitimate.

the unrelenting Tory sleaze Babs is alluding to feels familiar but there is no ascendant New Labour coming over the horizon, in fact quite the opposite. And I'm not even sure what "90's clothes" are despite living through the era. I've always been half normie/half scruff and that style can't be pinned to a decade!

Lots of people haven't the foggiest who Bannon is would be my guess, give a good game on the doorstep and cash in on ppl's disenfranchisement and you're golden. Which yes wouldn't happen if Keith hadn't screwed things up in the first place.

I just looked Phillips up and I'm amazed that she is only 39. Thought she was 10 years older!

Daniel_Rf, Saturday, 26 June 2021 09:14 (five years ago)

This tweet is asking the right questions re: Hancock

The fucking Sun running an overt blackmailing protection racket on democratically elected ministers (including, apparently, their news desk having access to CCTV footage of secretary of states' offices??) is really obviously orders of magnitude worse than "having an affair".

— Lafargue (@Lafargue) June 26, 2021

xyzzzz__, Saturday, 26 June 2021 10:46 (five years ago)

it makes me wonder if they have also hacked the cctv cameras at Kieth's SW1 office, which would also be very wrong but potentially hilarious into the bargain!

calzino, Saturday, 26 June 2021 10:57 (five years ago)

Yeah the Sun thing is obviously worse but also no one cares that Hancock had an affair - they care that he handed NHS contracts to his mistress's brother.

Daniel_Rf, Saturday, 26 June 2021 12:34 (five years ago)

nashwan, Saturday, 26 June 2021 13:27 (five years ago)

My guess would be that Hancock is pushing for further delays to COVID restrictions being lifted and someone, possibly from the Treasury, has called in a favour with The Sun.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Saturday, 26 June 2021 13:32 (five years ago)

There's something very odd about positioning a security camera so it only shows you who is entering or exiting through a door. Maybe there are many more cameras focused on specific areas of rooms and corridors like that and so there is more footage available (if they were doing it there they were probably doing it other places around the building). And although it might make some sense to stand right against the door to try and obstruct someone else entering, it seems unlikely two people could prevent some suspicion were that to happen.

Garrison: "I never realized Kennedy was so dangerous to the Establishment. Is that why?")
Well, that's the real question, isn't it? Why? The 'How' and the 'Who' is just scenery for the public. Oswald, Ruby, Cuba, the Mafia, keeps 'em guessing like some kind of parlor game. Prevents 'em from asking the most important question: Why? Why was Kennedy killed? Who benefited? Who has the power to cover it up? Who?...

xyzzzz__, Saturday, 26 June 2021 14:25 (five years ago)

that Glen Matlock photo has him carrying an anti-tory banner, a pro-palestine banner, a climate change banner and loz fox in the comments crying freedom. very mixed messaging there.

“It is believed that Ms Butler would gain the support of the 34-strong Socialist Campaign Group of MPs”. Well, when I heard this rumour about a Dawn Butler challenge at the start of the week, I sounded out some SCG sources and it was a no from them. https://t.co/057V05NLgH

Cummings sounds remarkably like DJ Martian calling for #systemsthinking from #plankboris

So Carrie appoints Saj! NB If I hadn't tricked PM into firing Saj, we'd have had a HMT with useless SoS/spads, no furlough scheme, total chaos instead of JOINT 10/11 team which was a big success. Saj = bog standard = chasing headlines + failing = awful for NHS. Need #RegimeChange

Always good to see the children of bus drivers do well! Congrats @sajidjavid on your appointment as Health Secretary.

Look forward to working together to protect our communites from this awful pandemic, get London vaccinated and continue opening up our city and country safely.

Sajid Javid is the new Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.

Alongside being an MP, last year Javid was hired as a paid senior advisor to the US bank JP Morgan.

JP Morgan is a major player in private healthcare.

The NHS isn't safe in the Conservatives' hands.

he obv means "return to normal" in some deeply twisted and psychopathic Randian sense here. I heard some Tory on the radio this morning spinning it like a Top Trumps accolade that this useless cunt has "held two great offices of state".
