One of the best things about Italy is they give English commentators and pundits so few opportunities to bang on about the Premier League and English football - I think they've got two players playing in the Premier League? Tonight, Ferdinand seemed to forget they even existed and then dismissed them as possible champions.

I can't get away from the fact that Mancini changed the team so much in this round and they performed with almost as much poise, solidity and guile as the first games. That said, the knockout end of the draw they are in, have some big hitters....
