《Myst1kOblivi0n》 (jim in vancouver), Tuesday, 15 June 2021 20:46 (five years ago)

Preach it.

pomenitul, Tuesday, 15 June 2021 20:46 (five years ago)

Yeah they look the best by some distance

xyzzzz__, Tuesday, 15 June 2021 20:48 (five years ago)

or scotland obviously

《Myst1kOblivi0n》 (jim in vancouver), Tuesday, 15 June 2021 20:50 (five years ago)

Italy looked pretty good too xps

groovypanda, Tuesday, 15 June 2021 20:57 (five years ago)

thought havertz was Germany's best player 2nd half so of course loew took him off.

oscar bravo, Tuesday, 15 June 2021 20:59 (five years ago)

or scotland obviously

David Turnbull poised to take this tournament by storm.

Are Animated Dads Getting Hotter? (Tom D.), Tuesday, 15 June 2021 21:04 (five years ago)

Italy were good but maybe lack an edge, hard to tell from Turkey.

Maybe Belgium could beat France but they'd need to have a bad day to lose.

xyzzzz__, Tuesday, 15 June 2021 21:05 (five years ago)

And if Belgium beat France maybe France could nuke 'em?

xyzzzz__, Tuesday, 15 June 2021 21:06 (five years ago)

What are you on about?

Saxophone Of Futility (Michael B), Tuesday, 15 June 2021 21:08 (five years ago)

France destroying Belgium?

xyzzzz__, Tuesday, 15 June 2021 21:10 (five years ago)

tintin and milou would find a way to stop it surely

《Myst1kOblivi0n》 (jim in vancouver), Tuesday, 15 June 2021 21:21 (five years ago)

i have big questions about how much of the second half France ceded to Germany and i doubt any excuse you could muster

Full Kit Starmer (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 15 June 2021 22:06 (five years ago)

i think germany are no slouches either. were asking the questions quite a bit in that second half

《Myst1kOblivi0n》 (jim in vancouver), Tuesday, 15 June 2021 22:12 (five years ago)

yeah i think that's fair, that France didn't just sit back but that they were outplayed for chunks of the game, i think that casts doubts on them as being head and shoulders favourites for the tournament tho

Full Kit Starmer (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 15 June 2021 22:15 (five years ago)

i was going to say, i thought germany's style of play was more of an answer to what france was trying to do, if that makes sense. both teams did well to "neutralize" each other. i didn't say anything because i was afraid of being shunned by the experts in the room. i didn't watch italy play, but i agree that france, germany, and belgium are the stronger teams. possibly spain, as well, if they can actually get a decent striker. like germany, their tactic is pretty "understated" and not as flashy as france's. i also could be talking out of my ass

Punster McPunisher, Tuesday, 15 June 2021 23:54 (five years ago)

agree that France will be hard to beat, they didn't have it there own way against the germans but they were pretty impervious to much of the probing, their ability to devastate on the counter will be key, mbabbe's disallowed goal was so sweet, perfect placement, he is like Henry on speed, I wonder what will happen when he loses that raw pace later in his career, its always the first thing to go and right now, it's his main, tho admittedly, not his only weapon.

Swanswans, Wednesday, 16 June 2021 08:17 (five years ago)

I think he has enough to his game to become a more complete centre forward type without too much lost

Germany really missed a target in the box, plenty of good delivery from the right

Eschew things thirty two times before swallowing them (darraghmac), Wednesday, 16 June 2021 08:53 (five years ago)

Germany had a couple of decent half-chances but France looked eminently comfortable throughout and felt they were probably more deserving of a 3-0 scoreline yesterday than Portugal

groovypanda, Wednesday, 16 June 2021 09:04 (five years ago)

Another Marxist footballer

Full Kit Starmer (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 16 June 2021 16:26 (five years ago)

It’s hard to believe this is more or less the same Turkish side that demolished the Netherlands and Norway in March.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Wednesday, 16 June 2021 16:26 (five years ago)
