Actor or not, he continues to be a movie star. A very separate thing.

One of those fratboys was a good friend of mine (the tall one). He happened to be in England and got the walk-on part because the guy who was originally supposed to do it (another friend from university) had to leave the UK before the super-slow-perfectionist Kubrick got around to shooting the scene. He was bummed.

Anyway, my friend who wound up doing the scene said it was kinda fun calling Tom a faggot. I have no idea if Tom is actually gay or not, but I just thought I'd share that with y'all.

I kinda wish celeb gossip didn't exist. Who cares about Tom Cruise's personal life? He's a good looking guy who's done well for himself and has done some pretty top films ("Risky Business" is perfect and "Born on the 4th of July"... for which he was robbed of an Oscar, "A Few Good Men") and, like most actors, some pretty bad ones ("Top Gun", "Days of Thunder", "Mission Impossible" series). I wish he'd do more serious stuff.

I think the homosexual allegations (?) started because Nicole Kidman made some ambiguous comment in an interview, no? I seem to recall so. Yes, I have paid full price for TWO Tom Cruise bios. :-(

Actually according to the bio I read, they started pretty early in his career right when some shirtless pictures of him were sold to a gay magazine (or something to that effect.) Plus, Top Gun.

iirc scientology has its members divulge all of their their past sexual experiences and 'deviant behaviors' as part of the process of becoming 'clear' -- these confessions are kept on file and used to blackmail members if they step out of line. so i've read.
